The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say many boating deaths could be prevented with basic safety precautions.

Officials say alcohol, lack of life jackets and changing weather conditions remain major concerns heading into one of the busiest lake weekends of the year.
