Today, I’m honoring my grandfather, Edward Kolb, a proud member of the Greatest Generation.

During World War II, he served as a crew member aboard the legendary B-17 Flying Fortress, answering the call to defend our freedom with courage and sacrifice.

This week, I had the incredible privilege of being selected to help restore and protect the plexiglass on a B-17. As I worked, I couldn’t help but think of my grandfather and the countless airmen like him who trusted these remarkable aircraft with their lives.

Being able to preserve a piece of aviation history that meant so much to his generation is an honor I will never forget. This experience wasn’t just about restoring an airplane—it was about preserving the legacy of the heroes who flew them.

Thank you, Grandpa, for your service, your sacrifice, and the legacy you’ve left our family. I hope I made you proud.
