Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken on September 11, 2001—people who went to work, boarded airplanes, answered calls for help, and kissed their families goodbye, never knowing it would be for the last time.
We honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, service members, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger to save strangers. In one of America’s darkest hours, they showed us the extraordinary courage and compassion within ordinary people.
May we remember not only how our nation was attacked, but how we came together afterward—as neighbors, as Americans, and as human beings. We helped one another. We stood together. For a time, our differences seemed small compared with everything we shared.
More than two decades later, perhaps the greatest tribute we can offer those we lost is to find that spirit again: to choose kindness over hatred, unity over division, and hope over fear.
We will never forget the lives that were taken, the heroes who answered the call, or the families who still carry their loss.
May their memory continue to bring us together. 🇺🇸
