Keith Johnson Named as Promoter for The Wick 338!

Southwick MX Park, LLC is pleased to announce a new promoter has been chosen for The Wick 338! Long time New England and former AMA and CMRC Pro motocross racer Keith Johnson will take over the day-to-day operations of the legendary Southwick motocross facility and apply his vast knowledge and experience of motocross racing to lead The Wick 338 to the next level.

Johnson, a native of Massachusetts, first raced at Southwick in 1977. He won over 60 New England championships between 1977 and the present, including 12 NESC Expert championships. Keith turned pro in 1988 and raced the AMA Pro Motocross series for 16 years earning a top 100 National number each year with #29 being his lowest number. Johnson also has several International wins to his credit. Between 2004 and 2006, Johnson headed north to contest the Canadian CMRC MX1 Pro series and finished 6th, 4th and 7th overall respectively, riding for the OTSFF Factory Suzuki Team in 2005. Keith is a seven time Loretta Lynn's national champion winning both the Junior 25 Plus and 35 Plus Vet classes in 2008 and 2009. In addition he has six titles from Lake Whitney, TX and Oak Hill, TX. Today, Keith rides for fun and enjoys road/mountain bicycle riding and golf.

Keith brings his passion of motocross and the strong work ethic that brought him so much success in the sport, to return The Wick 338 to a premier motocross racing destination in the Northeast as well as GP style off-road races. He also shares the vision of Southwick MX Park to host a future round of the AMA Pro Motocross Nationals at The Wick 338.

Southwick MX Park, LLC is currently talking with qualified promoters for The Wick 338 about the 2015 season and beyond. The new promoter will have the opportunity to run approximately 20-25 events per year at the legendary Southwick, MA motocross facility.

Southwick MX Park, LLC is pleased to announce The Wick 338, for the first time in the legendary motocross track’s history, will host an off-road GP race. The final round of the 2014 Wideopen JDay Offroad GP season will be held on Saturday, November 1st. The event will mark a couple of firsts for The Wick 338: It’s the first ever off-road GP event held at the facility and it’s the first (and only) race of the 2014 racing season.

The Wick 338 is proud to partner with JDay Offroad to bring this event to the racers, families, friends and racing fans of the Northeast. The JDay Offroad GP Series is changing off-road motorcycle racing as we know it. JDay offers an action packed off-road racing experience and also provides the intensity and spectating experience of a motocross event.

The Wick 338 recently acquired a neighboring property with acres of loamy pine forest which is perfect for the fast and flowing JDay Offroad course. The pine forest combined with the legendary motocross track will present the racers and spectators with a unique blend of motocross and off-road racing that has never been experienced at the historic facility.

With this event being the only race at The Wick 338 in 2014, we expect both motocross and off-road racers from all parts of the east coast to make the pilgrimage to Southwick, Massachusetts to rip laps on the legendary sands of Southwick. Mark your calendars for the race of the year… it’s going to be epic!

Hi Everyone, thanks for visiting The Wick 338 page! We have been working very hard to get the track reopened but unfortunately there are more unexpected issues that have come up very recently.

As many of you who have followed this process are aware, we have faced numerous problems, issues and challenges from day one. However, just as we have successfully worked through all of the previous issues, we are confident we will resolve these too. Stay tuned!
