Good evening and “Happy Sunday”!!!
Story Time!
If we back the truck up all the way to “2022” I had the privilege of helping a gentleman out on a new Ford King Ranch pickup that only went by and needed one name: “Cowboy”.
You knew upon meeting Cowboy that he was the highest caliber of man, and an all around great human.
Couldn’t ask for a kinder person to work for.
He told me that he had an allocation to purchase a new Z06 Corvette, and that he was building a shop just to put it in.
He painted a picture of how everything was going to look, and told me he would give me a holler once he had it in his possession, and also had everything sorted.
Fast forward to about 7 weeks ago, and I received a call from our friend Ethan over at “Pinto’s Customs”.
He told me had just finished up some custom paintwork on a Z06 for a customer named “Cowboy” and it needed a few panels wrapped with paint protection film, could he give him my number?
Absolutely!
I was honored he threw my name in the mix, and was of course wondering could this be the same Cowboy I knew?
He definitely said he was going to secure a new Z06 and one thing you immediately could tell about Cowboy was that he was a man of his word.
Just as Ethan said he would do Cowboy called later that evening, and I volunteered to make a house call due to the rain that had started to fall.
Sure enough I come down the driveway and leaned up against the side of the building was “Cowboy” Joe Morrison!
Not only did he have the car but he built the building to put it in!
Just as he said it would be too…
I’ve said it before but I have to say it again GOD continues to put amazing people in my life!
Now when it comes to this one of a kind 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 credit goes to Pintos Customs for the air brushed carbon fiber, and paint work. I believe initially the car was black.
Originally the vehicle was wrapped in Chicago and Cowboy had some panels painted, and was also unhappy with a few panels.
My buddy Duke from Dukes Details and Ethan told Cowboy to give me a call I could help with the PPF.
When Cowboy and I first met I could not have, and I told him that, it was above my talent level at the time.
This time however things were different, and 200 hours later I’m very proud to unveil this project to you courtesy of my good buddy “Cowboy”….
Now when I first started the project we went from just a few panels to Cowboy saying “Son I think we just redo the whole car”….and here we are.
I steamed and removed all of the film. ✅
Block sanded the entire car as flat as possible.✅
Cowboy wishes to show the car and he told me he wanted this to be the best it could be.
After 2 weeks of removing film, sanding, machine polishing, and prepping the vehicle we were finally ready for film.✅
I wrapped the entire vehicle with SunTek Films paint protection film. ✅
Modesta ceramic coatings were then applied to all of the film, glass, wheels and calipers, and trim. ✅
I have never claimed to be “elite” at anything if given one shot at it, but Cowboy gave me the ability to run with this project and keep it as long as I needed to deliver the “look” he was after.
I spent 3 days trying to nail the hood, and lower splitter.
This film is the prettiest I’ve seen personally.
In large part due to the surface underneath.
When I first saw this car outside in the sunshine I was relieved because I could see the efforts come to life and I couldn’t wait for Cowboy to see it.
Cowboy shows up 3 deep at the shop and of course I was anxious like I always am when a customer is picking up, but he shook my hand and said thank you. You told me you’d do the best work possible and I believe you have done exactly that.
Absolutely made my day!
A huge thank you goes to my main man Travis Watkins for coming over and walking circles around this car with me for over an hour looking for any imperfections or blemishes so they could be corrected before Cowboys arrival.
You always come through in the clutch my friend!
Thank you to my beautiful wife Nikki Lynn for putting up with me obsessing over every inch of this car for weeks on end, and helping with the PPF.
I love you honey!
Thank you to Ethan and Duke for vouching for me so I could have a shot as delivering on the project. I appreciate you both!
