Good evening and “Happy Sunday”!!!

Story Time!

If we back the truck up all the way to “2022” I had the privilege of helping a gentleman out on a new Ford King Ranch pickup that only went by and needed one name: “Cowboy”.

You knew upon meeting Cowboy that he was the highest caliber of man, and an all around great human.

Couldn’t ask for a kinder person to work for.

He told me that he had an allocation to purchase a new Z06 Corvette, and that he was building a shop just to put it in.

He painted a picture of how everything was going to look, and told me he would give me a holler once he had it in his possession, and also had everything sorted.

Fast forward to about 7 weeks ago, and I received a call from our friend Ethan over at “Pinto’s Customs”.

He told me had just finished up some custom paintwork on a Z06 for a customer named “Cowboy” and it needed a few panels wrapped with paint protection film, could he give him my number?

Absolutely!

I was honored he threw my name in the mix, and was of course wondering could this be the same Cowboy I knew?

He definitely said he was going to secure a new Z06 and one thing you immediately could tell about Cowboy was that he was a man of his word.

Just as Ethan said he would do Cowboy called later that evening, and I volunteered to make a house call due to the rain that had started to fall.

Sure enough I come down the driveway and leaned up against the side of the building was “Cowboy” Joe Morrison!

Not only did he have the car but he built the building to put it in!

Just as he said it would be too…

I’ve said it before but I have to say it again GOD continues to put amazing people in my life!

Now when it comes to this one of a kind 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 credit goes to Pintos Customs for the air brushed carbon fiber, and paint work. I believe initially the car was black.

Originally the vehicle was wrapped in Chicago and Cowboy had some panels painted, and was also unhappy with a few panels.

My buddy Duke from Dukes Details and Ethan told Cowboy to give me a call I could help with the PPF.

When Cowboy and I first met I could not have, and I told him that, it was above my talent level at the time.

This time however things were different, and 200 hours later I’m very proud to unveil this project to you courtesy of my good buddy “Cowboy”….

Now when I first started the project we went from just a few panels to Cowboy saying “Son I think we just redo the whole car”….and here we are.

I steamed and removed all of the film. ✅

Block sanded the entire car as flat as possible.✅

Cowboy wishes to show the car and he told me he wanted this to be the best it could be.

After 2 weeks of removing film, sanding, machine polishing, and prepping the vehicle we were finally ready for film.✅

I wrapped the entire vehicle with SunTek Films paint protection film. ✅

Modesta ceramic coatings were then applied to all of the film, glass, wheels and calipers, and trim. ✅

I have never claimed to be “elite” at anything if given one shot at it, but Cowboy gave me the ability to run with this project and keep it as long as I needed to deliver the “look” he was after.

I spent 3 days trying to nail the hood, and lower splitter.

This film is the prettiest I’ve seen personally.

In large part due to the surface underneath.

When I first saw this car outside in the sunshine I was relieved because I could see the efforts come to life and I couldn’t wait for Cowboy to see it.

Cowboy shows up 3 deep at the shop and of course I was anxious like I always am when a customer is picking up, but he shook my hand and said thank you. You told me you’d do the best work possible and I believe you have done exactly that.

Absolutely made my day!

A huge thank you goes to my main man Travis Watkins for coming over and walking circles around this car with me for over an hour looking for any imperfections or blemishes so they could be corrected before Cowboys arrival.

You always come through in the clutch my friend!

Thank you to my beautiful wife Nikki Lynn for putting up with me obsessing over every inch of this car for weeks on end, and helping with the PPF.

I love you honey!

Thank you to Ethan and Duke for vouching for me so I could have a shot as delivering on the project. I appreciate you both!

Good afternoon and Happy Saturday!

This past week I had the privilege of visiting my friends up at “Xtreme Muscle Carz” in Highland, and assisting on this beautiful 1969 Pontiac GTO!

I really have to start this post by saying what an honor it was being asked to come back a second time (I had the privilege of working on a Nova for them a few months back) to their shop.

If you have ever visited Xtreme muscle carz you already know they have an incredible building, full of beautiful cars all in various stages of extensive builds, and projects.

Xtreme is certainly the right name the building is huge!

The owner Brett Cygan has done the impossible.

As a dad to see them in action I was more than impressed.

Brett has created a business where not only is he able to take care of himself , but his boys work with him everyday.

As a guy that loved and respected my Dad to the fullest (and miss him very much) I was more than impressed.

I would be lying if I didn’t say I day dreamt this past week about my little Grace Amanda still wanting to hangout with me, and hopefully be interested enough in our business to help out.

Thank you to the Xtreme Family for making me feel welcome this past week I really appreciate you guys!

Now back to the task at hand and this beautiful GTO….

The car was painted elsewhere and the owner wanted to remove some of the texture and orange peel, while bringing out as much gloss as possible, and laying down some protection to hopefully preserve the finish, and make maintaining this beautiful beast easier in the future.

I wet sanded the entire vehicle to remove the orange peel, dirt nibs, and texture ✅

Compounded first with a rotary and twisted wool pad, followed by a coarse wool pad on a 21 mm long throw dual action polisher to clear up the marring and haze from the rotary and remove the holograms. ✅

Then 2 steps of machine polishing were performed to restore gloss and clarity to the finish. ✅

A ceramic coating from Modesta was installed over all of the painted surfaces on the vehicle to lock in all of the polishing and prep work, and provide years of easy washing and maintenance! ✅

This was an incredible project and an honor to play a small role in.

Thanks Xtreme!

We won!!!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years, and made this possible!

Thank you to everyone for voting (some of you daily!) it really meant a lot to me, and my family.

Thank you to my beautiful wife Nikki Lynn for being a pretty awesome social media post maker, and marketer for all things “Lloyd Denny”.

I love you honey, and I appreciate you very much.

I couldn’t have survived long in business if I didn’t have the one and only Cindy Denny (my incredible Momma) helping me.

She taught me to detail interiors, and we learned how to install PPF together-one wasted roll of film at a time I might add, and my Dad taught me the art of wet sanding.

A massive thank you goes to a gentleman who at first trained me on PPF, took thousands of phone calls and video calls from me in a state of panic, and along the way became one of my very best friends, and favorite people in life: Eric Sawatzky

Without you brother I’m not sure how long I could have taken the cruel and unusual punishment that learning PPF can be sometimes.

You sir are appreciated!

Detailing has always been a huge part of my life and a comfort zone for me.

In a strange way being behind a polisher has always been therapeutic for me.

This year marks 30 years from my first big “Before and After” Denny the “Snap On” man’s giant delivery truck.

With a rotary I buffed and polished for what seemed like days but when I was finished, and stood back and looked over the work: I was absolutely hooked. Something I could physically see that I did right!

For a kid that lacked confidence it meant a lot.

Attention to Detail started during a pandemic, while my wife and I had a brand new baby girl at home.

I was one of the very last guys to get laid off from the bodyshop I had worked at for years and thought I would retire from, and was honestly in full panic mode.

Grace is my first and only child, and I didn’t want to let her and Nikki down.

Because of all of you, and a ton of help from God that didn’t happen.

The schedule built itself overnight and before you knew it things were going too well to go back to the bodyshop.

My inner circle of people told me to make a run at it, and I’m so grateful I listened.

I prayed for work and it kept coming, and I still do exactly that today.

God has been so incredibly good to me, my family, and our business and I have been blessed to meet and develop friendships with so many of you, and it has been an honor to help you protect your vehicles.

When it comes to finishing work and paint protection you are only as strong as the weakest link in the chain.

I am honored and grateful that I have the world’s best ceramic coating in our arsenal with Modesta and SunTek Films for our PPF!

Thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your installer family.

Thank you for making the life I have today possible.

Where the little things are not only noticed, but appreciated, and in some rare cases like this one:

07/27/2026

Where do I start?

Way back in 2020 the very first ceramic coating I ever installed under the “Attention to Detail” name was on a beautiful green 1997 Pontiac Trans Am for a gentleman that goes by the name of Travis Watkins.

(Trans Am picture included below, with the work done in my Father’s garage as he was kind enough to share the space with me)

Since then I have added official words and titles to that name, and here are just a few:

The one and only Pastor Travis Watkins…

The man, the myth, the legend…

My main man, best friend, and brother from another…

I am incredibly proud to say that he has now added to my titles as well: officially Dr. Pastor Travis Watkins.

From a professional standpoint you cannot really beat Dr. but as far as terms of endearment go I still like mine too.

This vehicle was a surprise from his awesome wife for exactly that achievement.

Since that Trans Am we have worked on countless projects together, and they were all awesome and fun to me in different ways, but more importantly to me, the two of us have faced life together.

It’s rare to find someone that loves you not only on your good days but your bad days too, and I can absolutely say that more times than once I’ve been having a bad day talking to him on the phone and heard a knock at the shop door, and it’s him.

He shows up for me and my family.

Sometimes we don’t even have an answer or a solution but we go at it together and I truly feel like our relationship is a “God” thing.

I think God knew no matter what I may have said about not needing a best friend that I was wrong, because I did.

In my heart of hearts I do not believe there would be an “Attention to Detail” without Pastor Travis.

In the beginning he fed me work anytime I said I was coming up on an empty spot on the calendar.

I’m not a confident person but he definitely makes sure to tell me that I should be.

He’s the kind of leader that you would run through a brick wall for, if needed.

He was just re-elected as the FGCI Superintendent.

I know I don’t say enough just how proud of you I am.

Cancer came knocking on the front door.

Pastor Travis didn’t run, he answered.

I like to think in some weird way we were fighting together.

He was never angry or questioned “why me”?

His thoughts were always “God is going to show up in a big way, and somehow we’re going to use this to help others”.

I’ll tell you as a man that his attitude and outlook on life helped me.

Seeing you battle adversity, push through the treatments, and still praise God, and have an awesome attitude was beyond impressive.

Our friendship, and your family has made me and my family truly feel like we are a part of something bigger than just ourselves.

Thank you for everything that you have done for us.

I will forever feel in debt to you my friend.

I guess I had to say all of that up there to say that I am unbelievably proud of you and your accomplishments, and that I love you very much.

As far as the work is concerned on this beautiful 2022 Dodge Challenger here’s what I did to achieve this beautiful finish and level of gloss…

First I washed and fully decontaminated the paint.

All of the painted surfaces on the vehicle went through extensive correction and polishing.

The goal was to somehow make this white paint pop like a darker colored vehicle, and I think we achieved just that.

The emblems from the fenders, and grill were removed for a cleaner look and profile.

Pastor Travis removed the taillight covers, and leuvers from the back glass himself, and did a great job.

The hood was wrapped in an 8 millimeter thick, satin black paint protection film.

The wheels were deep cleaned and ceramic coated with Modesta BC06 (2 coats to achieve even coverage throughout)

The paint was ceramic coated with the one and only Modesta BC05.

The hood was coated with Modesta BC-M.

All of the plastic on the vehicle was ceramic coated with Modesta BC-X.

All of the glass was then coated with a ceramic coating designed to bond and adhere properly with glass.

The tires were dressed and protected with Aenso Orbit.

Thank you brother for the opportunity to help you get yet another incredible machine “Dialed In”!!!

07/23/2026

Good evening!

The week before last I received an email through our website asking for an estimate for paint correction, and possibly ceramic coating on a 2010 Ford Fusion.

As I always do, I asked the customer if they could possibly bring the vehicle by the shop so I could see it in person, and give them an estimate after seeing it.

When the Fusion arrived walking up to it I couldn’t help but notice yellow traffic paint on the bottom of both sides of the car.

The owner and I walked around the vehicle as I inspected the paint, and I was explaining to her everything that could be removed and corrected, and the things that would be left behind.

She laughed about the yellow traffic paint and asked if I could possibly leave it?

I said yes of course! but can I hear the story behind it?

She said the car was my mother‘s and she gave it to me. The day she got the yellow paint all over the car we laughed hysterically about it, and gave each other a hard time for days, and every time I walk up to this car and I see it I think of her and the great time we had. She had a great sense of humor!

I immediately understood because that’s something I would do.

I promised to take great care of her Mother’s Fusion and I was honored to do the work for her.

Once we had scheduled the Ford Fusion she let me know she had a Toyota 4-Runner TRD Off-Road Pro that she’d like to get done as well!

So I was blessed to schedule them both back to back.

Working on the Fusion for three days brought back a lot of great memories of my dad, and I can’t help but be sentimental. It meant a lot to me being trusted with something so precious.

I prepped both vehicles the same:

First I washed and decontaminated the paint.

Then I compounded all the painted surfaces on each vehicle with a coarse wool pad on a dual action long throw polisher to remove all the swirl marks, imperfections and defects from the clear coat.

Then I machine polished each panel with a fine foam finishing pad on the same long throw dual action machine from Rupes to clean up all the haze and marring leftover from the wool pad, and to add glass and clarity to the finish.

I cleaned each panel with isopropyl alcohol to remove any oil or residue from the surface to ensure our Modesta ceramic coating bonded properly with the clearcoat.

Each vehicle was then coated with Modesta BC-X, and baked with a short wave infrared curing lamp from United to cure and harden the ceramic coating.

Finally a layer of Modesta M1 Smoke was applied to each vehicle to protect them while they finish curing over the first couple weeks.

Helping the members of our military protect their cars and trucks has been one of the greatest parts of my business, and I always try to take care of them the best I can.

I am very aware that guys like me would never have the opportunity to chase a dream like this without the sacrifices the brave men and women of our military make to defend and protect our freedom.

Rose I just wanted to thank you again for trusting Attention to Detail and myself to help you protect not one but two vehicles back to back, and more importantly to me, the Ford Fusion.

It was an honor meeting you and from the bottom of my heart thank you for your service!

07/20/2026

Obsessive compulsive disorder can be a funny thing.

When you have OCD, which can be a blessing and a curse like I do, it’s easy to see when other people have the same affliction.

Over the years at Attention to Detail I’ve met and formed relationships with at least a dozen men and women that have OCD maybe 2 dozen.

I think they also spot it because they’ve got it so to speak.

I’ve come to learn that those people typically are at the very top of their field.

My great friends Michael Todd, Pastor Travis Watkins, and Jake Dellinger all have OCD whether they realize it or not, and they’re all absolute legends at what they do.

Last year I met a gentleman that i immediately knew was as crazy as me, and after a few conversations I came to believe that he could actually match my level of obsession and that’s scary but also really impressive.

I knew that whatever he did in life for a profession he was legit.

I’ve been scrambling this summer to get this shop cooled.

Like everything since 2020 HVAC prices have tripled.

Back when I first started and my Dad was still with us,he had formed relationships with hundreds of people by being their mechanic.

Someone always owed him a favor.

He made sure of it.

I was spoiled and didn’t realize just how many times he pulled strings for me.

Originally a great family friend “George of the Jungle” we called him as a kid, 6’ 6”, incredibly tall, and gorilla strength.

Nobody messed with George.

He hooked up the ac and furnace for me but sadly he’s no longer with us.

I ceramic coated a gentleman’s car and he did the ductwork and stuff for me.

I was like 4 grand all in.

2026 that 4 grand is much closer to 12 maybe 13k.

I bought a two ton window unit and it was much better than nothing, but the window’s in the back corner, and it’s not ducted.

One of my closest friends Jake helped me put 38 bags of insulation in the shop attic and that too helped tremendously but still kind of miserable, and more importantly hot and humid doesn’t mix well with paint protection film and ceramic coating.

In steps a gentleman that’s actually became a friend of mine but I initially had no clue that he did HVAC work.

He came out and told me he could do everything exactly the way I wanted it, which caught my attention because even I didn’t know what I wanted lol.

I know there are levels to everything in life but I had no clue it was possible to make ductwork look this awesome!

He did a phenomenal job but what’s even more impressive to me is that he knew exactly what I wanted when I had no clue!

He knew my level of crazy and matched it.

To me that’s more incredible than this beautiful spiral ductwork, the awesome flex lines, and aluminum vents.

He seriously said I got this brother trust me I know what you want…

Somehow he actually added to the “look” of the shop when at least in my experiences this is something I would want to hide or cover up.

This friend of mine does not want a public pat on the back, he accepted zero dollars for labor, he doesn’t want a shout out to hopefully land some work from this epic setup.

I however know that he will see the post, I hope his family sees the post, and knows just how much I appreciate them letting me steal him away for 2 Saturdays.

Two days that I know from experience he would have loved to not spend at my shop working on this stuff.

Two days with his family that he can’t get back.

I never understood how important those days truly were until I seen Grace Amanda grow up literally over night in front of my eyes.

So I have to say in hopes that you will read this someday:

Thank you my friend.

I try very hard to not ask people for help.

I try to always be the helper.

Earlier in my life that was not the case.

Without giving too much information I haven’t felt well this year and I was in a spot where i actually did need some help, and he was a gentleman and offered so I would not have to ask.

I don’t forget when people go out of their way for me, the business, and ultimately my family.

It means a lot.

Tonight I’m admiring the craftsmanship and your handiwork.

Similar to when you did the first wash on your vehicle and texted me how awesome it was, this is my text to you.

God continues to put the most incredible people in my path….

May God Bless you and keep you.

Good afternoon and “Happy Saturday”!!!

I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a fantastic start!

I wanted to take a moment and show you a beautiful car that we were blessed to have here in the shop a few months back.

I know I have said before that God has brought some incredible people in to my life by way of the work that I’m blessed to do here, but I have to say it again.

This beautiful 2007 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was purchased out of a private collection in Pennsylvania, and had just 5,800 miles on the odometer when I received it.

It’s an amazing car. Great spec. Gorgeous color.

I say that because unbeknownst to me the owner Patrick and his wife are even better people.

Immediately I knew Pat was blessed and cursed with the same level of OCD as me.

I actually enjoy projects like this because the owners notice all the little things and often I’ll get a call or text message a few weeks down the road when they’ve noticed some other small thing I threw in for them.

Patrick wanted to get this Z06 completely dialed in, and I was excited to help.

After a few conversations Pat and I developed a gameplan, and it time for me to execute.

I fully washed and decontaminated the paint (like always).

1. A strip wash was performed using Koch Chemie MSN

2. I foamed a decontamination soap from Obsessed Garage on to the vehicle and allowed it to dwell long enough to break down any waxes or sealants that may have been applied previously to the paint, agitated by hand, and rinsed.

3. An iron and tar remover was used on all the painted surfaces on the vehicle

4. Using a synthetic clay from Nanoskin we clay barred each panel to remove any contaminants that could still be embedded in the clear coat, before starting any aggressive compounding or correction.

After drying the vehicle and masking off all of the trim I spot sanded the passenger quarter panel, and passenger fender to remove the imperfections from the clear coat.

Two compounding stages were performed the first with a rotary, and the second with a dual action machine.

Two polishing steps were performed. The first using a yellow fine foam from Rupes, and the second with a white finishing foam pad both on a dual action long throw machine.

Once everything was properly finished, and looking the best it could I cleaned each panel with isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils or residues that may be leftover from our polishing stages.

Modesta BC04 was then applied to all the painted surfaces on the vehicle.

A ceramic coating designed to bond properly with glass was applied to each window, and front and back windshields.

The wheels were coated with Modesta BC06.

This was an amazing project for an incredible couple and I am grateful our paths crossed.

Pat thank you again for the opportunity to help you get your Z06 dialed in!

Happy Friday!!!

We recently had friend of the shop Davin Tikkanen’s (you may remember his awesome TransAm from the past) beautiful new Honda Civic in the shop for Modesta ceramic coatings!

After fully decontaminating the paint we machine polished each panel to bring out the gloss and clarity to the finish.

Modesta BC04 was then applied to all the painted surfaces on the vehicle.

Modesta BC06 was applied to all four wheels (faces and barrels)

The glass was also coated with a ceramic designed to bond with glass surfaces.

Davin I just wanted to thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you protect another vehicle!
