This 2002 Chevrolet Silverado arrived appearing as a parts truck. Mechnically bumper-to-bumper, all the components shown are brand new. The 5.3L was sourced and built with Brian Tooley Racing LS1/2 Stage 3 NA Cam, valvetrain components from the sprocket to the rocker arm trunions and everything in between. Supporting mods include bigger FAST - Fuel Air Spark Tech Big Mouth Throttle Body with a custom 4" Intake Pipe. For the fuel system, we've followed a similar path that we've done on previous builds with the Holley Performance billet external fuel pump with DeatschWerks 10 and 100 micron fuel filters along with their fuel regulator. The exhaust system is a true-dual exhaust that utilizes the MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust x-pipe muffler combo with a set of Speed Engineering long tube headers. Letting the 5.3L accentuate its choppy idle.

The transmission was rebuilt with all kinds of goodies. To start, we've paired the 5.3L with a Circle D Specialties 3400 stall torque converter with their flexplate to bolt up to. To combat the heat, we've also installed a trans cooler to keep those temps low along with AN lines and fittings to prevent any hose failure. To take the abuse that the cammed 5.3L will dish out, we've upgraded the transmission with high energy clutches along with a shift kit to withstand the stress being applied. Transferring the power to wheels, we've installed a 2-piece driveshaft due to the longer frame construction as well as reliability when it comes to how low and long the truck sits.

The Differential receives a Eaton truetrac posi unit with a gear ratio of 3.73. Allowing the truck to apply power to the wheels evenly on the ground instead of the traditional open differential that these trucks come equipped with. Allowing the truck to coast on the highways in lower RPMs, but still allow the driver to accelerate rapidly when necessary. Furthermore, we've installed Calvert Racing Suspensions caltracs along with new leaf springs with their aluminum bushings for increased responsiveness on the rear-end.

Lastly, some quality of life mods include a set of AEM Electronics gauges that will give the customer a read out of their transmission temperature, fuel pressure, and wideband readings.

Here we have a 2017 GMC Sierra Denali equipped with the 6.2L, 8L90 powertrain.
Receiving the first few upgrades that all truck owners can easily achieve!

To wake up the 6.2L without opening the block, we've done a full exhaust set-up to increase airflow as well as add more of a rumble in its presence. The MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust Straight-Through Muffler has always been a favorite amongst our customers due to its nature of keeping audio levels civil and tamed when cruising, but loud enough when giving it the beans!

As for the intake, we've gone with the K&N Filters Series 50 Cold Air Intake (Dryflow). A simple, easy to install intake kit designed around the truck's stock intake manifold + throttle body. As the owner plans to upgrade their intake manifold later in the future, we've decided that a performance proven, off-the-shelf intake oughta do the trick.

Tuning the truck was the final step to maximize the potential power output thanks to the new parts. Both the ECM and TCM has been tuned and refined. Not only increasing mileage on day-to-day driving, but also waking up the truck from it's lack-of-confidence behavior that all GM truck/SUVs tend to have. Not only does the engine sound snappy and responsive even without an aftermarket converter, but the TCM shift points have also been adjusted to accommodate any driving situation the owner would find themselves in.

Today, we have this 2007 Classic Chevy Silverado that has been equipped with plenty of goodies all around, front to back.

We start off with the powerplant. The crate 5.3L receives a moderately aggressive cam, BrianTooleyRacing's Stage 2 LS1/LS2 cam (221/24x .624"/.636" 112 LSA), a set of our ported cylinder heads (Cathedral port). To protect the engine, we've thrown on our dual catch-can to keep the oil free of any contaminants such as water and fuel.

The transmission itself receives a 3600 stall, multi-disk Circle D torque converter to raise the RPM closer to peak power for faster acceleration. Throwing in a trans-cooler along with it in order to combat the heat that is generated with higher rated stall torque converters.

Lastly, the differential receives an entire rebuild with a new gear ratio. Settling with 4.10 ratio, we've installed the new pinion with fresh races and bearings all around, including the posi unit itself. This will help lock up both wheels under load. This, of course, means the truck has the capability to slide around corners, leave 11s on tarmac, and increase acceleration thanks to the ratio as well as both wheels now able to drive the truck forward evenly.

During tuning, we did see vacuum being left in the intake manifold. This suggests the OE intake system is now bottlenecking the rest of the engine's capabilities. Not enough air is traveling into the combustion chamber due to the small throttle body, and stock intake manifold. The entire engine is essentially breathing through a tiny straw.

However, the customer intends to bring the truck back for those later down the road along with other services we offer. For now, this is the result of transforming an old work truck into a true, Texan-built street truck.

Here, we have a 2011 Yukon XL that was in the middle of a repair job for its DoD/AFM issue that these trucks are commonly known for. After sitting for roughly a year at another shop with its bare block exposed, the customer took their truck back and brought it to us to finish the job.

After ripping the old engine out to inspect if it was still a decent core, we did end up finding that one of the cam bearings had spun after attempting to remove the cam. Not only that, but the lifter that had collapsed was seized inside the block. Knowing a rebuild was in order, we've contacted the customer about our findings.

We happened to have another GenIV 5.3L this Yukon was equipped with. Fresh from the machine shop and ready to be built. In order to expedite things, the customer agreed to exchange his old 5.3L for ours.

Although not much is done to the rest of the truck, this is still a major upgrade over the stock internals for this generation (and newer) GM Truck/SUVs. New oil pump, all valvetrain components from timing sprocket to rocker arm trunions, a fresh set of cylinder heads, and a street tune all bring that extra kick the hefty Yukon.

Though the truck retains its factory intake and exhaust systems, the exhaust was slightly modified to give the truck a little more rumble in its sound. Loud enough to hear it chop and have presence, but muffled enough to keep it reasonable around the neighborhood.

A build like this is perfect for those looking to get a simple cam kit done after experiencing a lifter tick. Removing the DoD/AFM system entirely can increase overall reliability for these year (and newer) GM truck/SUVs, and depending on the customer's priority, the tune can help retain majority of the MPG.

This returning customer's old 5.3L was headed on the way out with low oil pressure (around 5-7psi). After confirming with various diagnosing methods, we've concluded that the 5.3L had reached its life expectancy and is in need for either a replacement or rebuild. Though the truck had some of our previous services, this gave us an opportunity to improve on what we had already done.

After going over a few options with the customer on how we could tackle the job, we've settled on this set up!

Here we have a 6.0L iron block with bone stock internals with a few goodies to support/future proof it's capabilities later down the road. With a TBSS intake manifold, bigger injectors, and a tune, this will solve majority of supporting mods. Should the owner decide to upgrade even further with a cam, bigger throttle body, and ported heads, they'll have no issues when it comes to running out of injector duty cycles.

Along this, we've also done some off the camera repairs. The biggest being replacing the steering rack assembly with a new one. We've also rebuilt the coolant system with a new water pump and heater + Radiator hoses. Also, the fuel pump itself has been replaced as we did the fuel regulator and injectors + pigtails.

For dressing the engine bay up, we've got ICT Billet's power steering/alternator bracket and valley cover to shine along with the rest of the engine components. Although the engine harness did not receive the tucked service, we did remove and reloom the harness. This also gave us an opportunity to inspect if the harness itself was in good condition, and to ensure there were no damage over the years.

This 2009 Silverado returned for a cam kit on its 6.2L along with a few other goodies. Previously, we had installed the transmission cooler some time ago and now has been returned after the owner installed a 3600-3800 stall torque converter.

The chosen cam was the TSP's F35 Camshaft. Which paired with our ported cylinder heads, Holley high ram intake manifold, Nick Williams 103mm throttle body, and a custom 4" intake pipe, drastically increased the airflow of the 6.2L.

To keep up with the airflow, a new set of injectors was needed to achieve the demanded flow rate in the tune. A set of GMs 50lb/hr injectors was installed from the '07-'13 Silverado/Sierra 6.0L + flex fuel equipped trucks.

Although we did not work on the exhaust system like we typically do, we did ask the owner for the set up! They mentioned the truck having a set of longtube headers, Flowmaster FlowFX muffler, and an x-pipe.

This 2003 Chevy Suburban came in for a new lease of life. After complaints of low oil pressure, we suspected the engine came to the end of its life. We began by tearing its original engine down and found catastrophic failure. Multiple spun cam bearings were found within the block, and it had caused significant damage to the block that a rebuild was not feasible.

Discussing this with the owner, we've decided to source another 6.0L iron block and rebuild from there. Wanting a little more kick out of the 6.0L, we've bored out the 6.0L to a 6.2L to get the best of both worlds when it comes to building an LS. Cylinder size of the LS3 but with structural rigidity if it's iron construction. Pairing this with BrianTooley's Truck Norris cam, it'll be a nice bump in power for the heavier 2500 Suburban.

Typically, the Truck Norris cam is the perfect solution for those who want to maximize the amount of power gains without going over the limits of the OEM components such as fuel pump and Injectors. In this case however, because of the increased displacement, we found that during the tuning process, the 6.2L demanded bigger injectors. We've picked a set of 50lb/hr injectors from GM. Giving enough headroom for reliability should the oxygen sensors command for more fuel.

Another upgrade for the 2500 was converting the fan clutch to the electric fan set up. Though these trucks originally did not come with electronic fans, they can still be pinned and programmed to accommodate them. With the entire system working just like factory with both low and high speeds.

Lastly, to give the suburban some rowdy presence and additional power gains, we've installed the K&N cold air intake kit as well as a set of Speed Engineerings longtube headers. Keeping air intake temps low and increasing airflow to cram as much fresh air into the combustion chamber as possible.

With the 2500 Suburban complete, she's ready to endure harsh conditions with the power to back it up. The tune livening up responsiveness and keeping mileage as efficient as possible to make use of its new goodies under the hood.

This 2011 Chevy Silverado initially arrived with its 434 LS non-operational, and the customer was looking to have it fixed. After a few days of diagnosis, the pushrod turned out to be the main culprit. Due to the pushrod length being too long, the valves would not seal properly and essentially lose its compression in the combustion chamber.

After getting the 434 running again, along with a few other small fixes, the customer wanted additional range of services for their truck.

To clean up the engine bay, we've ripped out the entire engine harness to get our tucked n' loomed service, making the Holley high ram intake shine without the frail, crumbling OE harness surrounding it.

The nitrous system then got a similar service by relocating the nitrous solenoids and running new lines. The wiring had also been loomed to keep a consistent, out of sight look. Setting the nitrous up for 100 wet shot.

Though the truck already was equipped with a velocity stack, it still retained its MAF sensor. By request of the owner, we've deleted the MAF sensor and tuned the truck with speed density. Eliminating the risk of the MAF sensor reading inaccurately during driving conditions due to its unusual intake pipe design.

Next, the fuel system received an overhaul to take into account for the nitrous system. Eliminating the previous dual in-tank fuel pumps. With the sump at the bottom of the factory fuel tank, it eliminates any chance of air being caught during low fuel/high G situations. Deatschwerks 10- and 100-micron filters have been installed before and after the fuel pump.

Lastly, a few other engine dress-up options such as new battery cables/terminals, Alternator/Power Steering ICT Billet bracket, and removal of old modules, relays, and wiring that was no longer in use and cluttering up the engine bay.

We've also installed our dual catch-can with AN bungs welded directly to each valve cover. running it in line with the tucked/loomed harness.

Lastly, the exhaust was reworked to receive an x-pipe along with the trending muffler kit from Valvetronic Designs, the Truck/SUV Muffler. Giving the owner control when the truck can be loud, and when it can be quiet.

This 2012 GMC Sierra came in for a few upgrades on its ~90k mile 5.3L. With this generation of Silverados being the first to come equipped with the now infamous DoD/AFM, the cam kit will remove the most common failure point of the system, the DoD lifters.

Along with the ported heads, the custom grind cam is better optimized specifically for this set up over a traditional off-the-shelf camshaft. Making this 5.3L respond better with additional bolt ones that can be added later down the road such as an intake manifold and long tube headers (already previously equipped by the owner).

The transmission itself received a fluid flush along with a new 3200 stall circle d torque converter and trucool 40k transmission cooler. Putting the trucks RPM closer to peak power for increased acceleration while keeping itself cool enough from experiencing overheating issues that are commonly experienced with aftermarket converters, especially with higher rated stalls.

Additional work was a replacement of the water pump, engine mounts, and AN lines + fittings for the transmission cooler. Eliminating the potential failure point of the included rubber hose over the OE hard-line method.
