August went down nice and smooth with all of our stellar HPDE events--Mohawk, GPS Track Time, RevMatch. All of the beautiful cars of the Chicago Porsche Club came out for a lovely late summer weekend. We had a new group of people and some familiar faces with CGI Motorsports, a great group with excellent instruction in road racing. Despite the rain the novices were not deterred during Sportbike Track Time's (Sportbike Track Time ) second successful weekend of the season.

Coming up this month we are hosting our classic Lemons event from September 4th to the 6th. Lemons has been coming here since 2010 and has always been one of our most unique, fun and...egalitarian events. A big thank you to Lemons () and their event organizer Kim Harmon who has always been a treat to work with.

It's always exciting and vital to work and interact with new groups, new people--to experience different vibes, different worlds. On September 18 - 20 we have a brand spanking new go-kart group from Ohio called the Dart Kart Club. With over 150 karts the weekend will have real racing and should be a blast for spectators!

Also, in this jam-packed month we have a couple of great HPDE events--Summer Track Days and Trackilicious. Both affordable and chill ways to either get track time or to be introduced to the sport. Of course, CGI Motorsports will be back again! And, for good measure we have a SCCA TNiA and a Sportbike Track Time Bike Night event.

Summer may be ending but our season is not!

Our 30th summer continued with fireworks during our 4th of July RevMatch weekend on our nations's 250th birthday. Then came the classic West Michigan Honda Meet Honda Meet on July 10 - 12. Another shout-out is in order to Chris Stewart and Adam Jabaay , who have put on this event at the GingerMan for 22 years now. Thank you!

The SCCA Speedfest double-regional/majors event on July 17 - 19 was a great time with a lot of fun racing and traditions upheld. A very smooth event once the smoke cleared....Coming here since the very beginning in 1996, without question SCCA is part of that which is oldest and best at the GingerMan. So I want to send a big, huge shout-out to Jeff Luckritz and the South Bend and Detroit SCCA regions South Bend Region, SCCA .scca.solo! Since I was eleven year old until today their race marshals and volunteers have always been kind and welcoming to me. I've truly always seen them as a part of the landscape.

AHRMA came back for epic racing and a track record for bikes was broken! Stefano Mesa did a lap in 1:27:1! These riders have guts and are very passionate about what they do. It was awesome.

August is the month of HPDE events: PCA Chicago, Mohawk, GPS Track Time and once again--Rev Match! We also have our exclusive HPDE motorcycle event--Sportbike Track Time on August 14 - 16. Overall a great month to affordably get experience, get involved and get some quality track time.

The American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association is the largest vintage racing organization in North America and one of the biggest in the world. AHRMA is all about recreating and preserving the vintage era of road racing, including the sights, sounds, smells and camaraderie.
