In my past couple of posts I've happened to talk about maintenance practices and such for these machines. But this one is going to touch on another area. Safety..... As these machines become more and more popular, local towns and counties have started opening up some of the public roadways for these to be used on. Some local clubs and even nearby states also have several parts of their systems where road travel is part of the trail system. What better way to be safe and to let other drivers know your intentions better than a turn signal system??

So that's exactly what we're talking about here. This kit is by far the best I've come across. SSV Works Tango 2 vehicle specific turn signal kit simply uses 1 rocker location providing directionals, hazards and horn. This system integrates into the machines factory tail lights for your rear signal indicators and includes front "button" markers. This install the customer didn't want to use the "button" style and wanted something sequential and a bit brighter. So we found him a solution that would meet his needs.

In addition while it was here we added some lights from Xprite Offroad & Lighting. An 8" reverse light to also help with safety and a 6pc rock light kit.....not so much for safety... but who doesn't like some killer looking accent lights??

So, as always if you're in the market to add some safety to your machine when traversing public roadways feel free to reach out and see what RPGraphix can offer you!! Or, if looking for any added lighting options such as rock lights, whip lights, light bars, chase lights, etc, we can get those too!!! Keep the rubber side down and the corners of your mouth up!!!! Safe riding all!!!

While on topic of maintenance we did have this General come in for a full fluid service. Maxima Racing Oils is our go to brand of fluids to keeping your machine properly lubricated. Now I'll admit there's not too much to say about your standard fluid service but this particular one did have a unique scenario that I thought I'd share.

I know I've talked about things like suspension being over looked and also how important proper maintenance is on these machines. But one thing I haven't really ever mentioned or talked about on the maintenance side is cleaning your machines. I know many take great pride in making their rides look good. Many spend hours getting their machines cleaned up and spray glossed... But....many don't and more importantly some of those that due take the time getting their machines looking good often sometimes neglect the most important parts to actually clean. The undercarriage..... We put these machines through all kinds of stuff off-road and all that stuff can get packed up above the skid plates. If that never gets rinsed out it continues to build. In this case that happened and so much got packed under the front diff that it basically kept the drain bolt packed in moisture causing it to rust pretty severely. So bad that it left the hex so soft that it took nearly no pressure to just have it round out. It basically just fell apart the moment the ratchet turned. So a replacement drain plug was going to be needed. Clearly not an end of the world situation but these OEM drain plugs run about $45 a pop..... The plug itself I had to use an extractor kit to get out.

Takeaways here mainly just again proper maintenance which also does include proper cleaning....simple easy thing to overlook as well but it can cause some unexpected situations. As always, if you're in need of having your machine serviced feel free to call or message today!! If you're a DIY'er we got you covered too!!! We stock a good selection of Maxima Racing Oils that you can pick up to service your own machine as well!!

This 2014 Can-Am Commander 800 XT was brought in because it was lurching really bad when the clutch engaged. Owner uses it on their property/farm towing spreaders and feed trailers etc. So they are often going at slow speeds (under 10mph sometimes even closer to ). The machine had (if I remember correctly) roughly @1500 miles on it. As you can see in the pictures the clutches have seen some better days. Now in fairness, it was not always primarily used this way but a lot of what you see is from driving in high gear and really should have been in low range. The belt was rarely traveling up the primary. Can't see it in photos but there was minimal belt "dust" on the primary past where you can see the extreme wear. Some on the secondary, minimal wear closer to the center. This generation of Can-Am machines (Commanders, Mavericks) are known for belt breakage issues and over heating of belts to begin with mainly due to the overall design they have. Take that and add in wrong gear selection and this is what you'll end up with.

So, clearly the inner sheave of the primary needed replacement. The one-way bearing assembly also needed to be replaced. You'll also see in the photos that the rollers flat spotted pretty bad as well, so they needed to get swapped out too. The secondary sheaves were in good shape overall but the torque ring gear was worn quite a bit and had some small cracks so replaced that as well. All Balls Racing one-way bearing kit took care of the primary and also a replacement air filter, EPI Performance primary roller kit solved the flat spotted rollers in the primary, engine/differentials/transmission got Maxima Racing Oils for all their lubrication needs and Hunterworks Inc. belt connecting the clutches together got this machine running efficiently and smoothly again. Now clutch engagement is super smooth and it's easy to hold machine at a slow speed in low range without it surging or lurching.

Lastly, the factory seat cover had seen some better days. So we were able to simply get a new cover for it. Got the old damaged one pulled off and new one installed. No more torn material to split worse and certainly more comfortable to sit on now!!!

So, as always, if you're in need of having your machine checked out for some concerns or issues you feel it's having reach out and see what RPGraphix can do for you. Whether suspension concerns, clutching, driveline, etc we can help get it operating like it should. Or if just in need of regular maintenance we can get you set there as well!! Oil changes, air filters, brakes etc we can get your machine serviced and ready hit the trails. Fell free to call or message to get your appointment setup!!!

While still on the subject of winter being over.....heated seats are a great addition to your machine. Whether SxS or even an ATV. Even with the super cold days behind us, just like I spoke about with the upper door kit in my last post, we still can have some chilly mornings/evenings. These heated seat kits from Rocky Mountain ATVMC (Tusk) are a perfect solution. Featuring a High and Low temp setting, backlit rocker switches and all included wiring these kits provide heat pads for both lower and upper portions of the seat. So you'll be sure to feel the heat in your seat with these!!

These kits were going into a brand new 2026 Can-Am X3 DS Turbo. While it was here customer also asked if I could install a set of whips he had purchased. Not a problem!!! So was able to get the Rocky Mountain ATVMC heated seat kits installed along with his whips he had previously purchased.

This customer had also purchased several accessories from us that he installed himself including MudBusters fender flares plus lower doors, upper soft doors, nerf bars and cargo box from Kemimoto. This machine is looking sharp and ready to hit the trails blazin!!!

So, as always, if you're in the market or need for accessories for your machine feel free to reach out and see what we have to offer. RPGraphix has access to a large number of manufacturers for almost all your powersports needs!!!!

Even though winter is past us, doesn't mean that upper doors are out of season. They provide cover from rain and dust. Plus there still can be some chilly mornings and evenings where closing up the machine can help keep you comfortable without needing a heater. These zipperless upper door kits from Rocky Mountain ATVMC (Tusk) are a great solution for anyone thinking of adding upper doors to their machine.

While it was here we had also discussed about adding mirrors that would work with having added the upper doors. So I also told the customer that the Tusk (Rocky Mountain ATVMC) Pillar mount mirror kits would be a great solution to compliment the door kit. They have many direct fit kits for both upper doors and mirror kits.

So, as always, if you've been thinking about adding upper doors or maybe a better mirror solution to your machine feel free to reach out and see what options RPGraphix can offer you. Installation options are available or if you prefer wrenching on your own machine we can certainly help you get the stuff you need!!!

On the topic of maintenance from my last post.....we can see this machine was in need of some. Now... this is not the owners fault. He actually picked this up at an auction. And I do apologize..... I did have a picture of the actual machine (which is a 2003 Polaris Sportsman 600) but i somehow deleted it and this is what I left myself to share with you all. lol

The machine from the outside and quick lookover seemed to be in great shape for its age... But once you started looking a little closer and see past some of the dirt you could start to see some areas that needed attention. Front bushings, ball joints (which I had a video of how bad the left one was but deleted that too..... DUH!!) tie rod ends, rear wheel bearings, brake pads all around and full fluid service.... I think that was everything.... Parts from All Balls Racing and Rocky Mountain ATVMC got the job for the replacements. The machine ran well and once the worn parts were replaced it rode great for a 20+ yr old machine... Oh!!! It did need a new drive belt as well. Cleaned up the clutches while we were in there too!

So, as always, if you know you may have some questionable parts that may need to be replaced or know for sure they do or are damaged, reach out and let RPGraphix get ya squared away. As mentioned we can get replacement parts from All Balls Racing, Rocky Mountain ATVMC (Tusk), OEM and more. Whether in need of brake pads, ball joints, axles or other we can help you get your machine back onto the trails. Feel free to reach out with any questions!! Stay safe out there!!!

I know we talk frequently about suspension being often overlooked when upgrading/servicing our machines. There are a lot of options out there as well. Many of the jobs that I've done and shared with you are upgrading to a full dual rate spring kit or if your machine technically came with a true dual rate kit...upgrading to better quality springs and spring rates to match your riding style etc...

But another option that is out there that can yield an improved ride quality while more importantly restoring your ride height/ground clearance is to install what many call a "tender kit". Basically we are removing your "sagged" out top spring of your shock with a better quality spring and often times a higher spring rate. This helps with regaining lost ground clearance, better ride quality and improved performance overall. This machine regained over 2.5" in the front and just over 1" in the rear. In addition due to the better quality spring, these will not "sag out" over time like the OEM springs do. This can be a great option for those that are not overly aggressive drivers or ones that are looking for a bit better ride quality and not bottoming out easily while out cruising the trails.

Another point to mention is that now warm weather riding is pretty much here.... if you're one that services their machines annually, we do offer maintenance services here. Whether simply changing your oil and filter or a full fluid service along with air filter, battery testing, suspension component check, general inspection, etc.... RPGraphix can make sure you and your machine are ready to tackle the trails. We use quality Maxima Racing Oils as our go to service fluids of choice. Comfortable doing your own work? Perfect! We try to stock all the most common oil weights and filters so you can tackle the job on your own as well!!!

So, as always, if you're looking to get more out of your machine with ride quality, ride height and performance or making sure you're keeping up on your maintenance needs, let RPGraphix be your go to shop!! Call or reach out to schedule appointments or feel free to stop in and see what we have in stock for you!!

Well......... I'll be the first to admit these photos are not very exciting and I def dropped the ball on a before and after scenario.......my bad....

But!! What this post is really about is just a reminder that shocks need servicing, just like changing your oil, or brake pads, or gear oils.....shocks have seals that can fail, pistons that can crack or split nitrogen gas that can leak out or mix with oil within the shock itself... When some or a few of these things happen your ride quality is reduced along with your handling and safety.

So how does one go about getting their shocks serviced??? Easy, you can simply bring your machine into us here and we can remove them from your machine get them packaged up and shipped out to the pros over at Shock Therapy to have them professionally rebuilt/serviced or....... as this customer did.... have them perform their RIS (Ride Improvement System). So not only are the shock internals inspected and checked for damage (replaced as well), seals replaced, fresh shock oil added.... but they revalve the shock itself to match your riding style and improve your ride quality and handling. They basically change how the shock works internally for the better. So whether you bring your machine in or as this customer did and just brought the shock assemblies themselves, we can get your shocks shipped out and serviced getting you back enjoying the trails in greater comfort. In fact if you zoom in on the pics you'll see the Shock Therapy gold sticker indicating their RIS has been performed on these shocks.

If you're machine has close to miles on it or more, you're about due to have them serviced. If you're looking to get better performance and comfort out of your machine the RIS in combination with their DRS (Dual Rate Spring) setup will totally change what a "good riding" machine really is... This customer already had taken advantage of their DRS kit.. Now he has the best of both, the RIS internally and the DRS externally.

One last quick thing to mention in all this. There are several machines out there where the factory shocks are not serviceable. Easiest way to know if yours are able to be serviced is if they are either Walker Evans or Fox branded shocks. Others simply can only be replaced with new.

SO, as always if you're feeling a little beat up after a day of riding or you're possibly hearing some weird swishy noises coming from your shocks.... you may want to consider reaching out and have us get them serviced for ya.... your body will thank you later!!!!

05/04/2026

Safety is always something to think about while we cruise through trails and potentially try to do things that maybe we shouldn't sometimes.....And although today's machines come with passenger restraints, they are often simply a seatbelt similar to what you have in your car. While this is certainly better than nothing the limited adjustability of the seat, the shoulder height of the belt and the way it typically sits across your shoulder/neck for many is uncomfortable. Enter the 4 point harnesses. These style passenger restraints are far more securing than your standard safety belt. They can truly "lock" you in when you've pulled the harnesses tight providing extra layers of safety in case something goes bad......
Plus these have padding built into the shoulder area providing greater comfort and because (in many instances) they're split by the seat cutouts, they don't rub along your neck line causing discomfort. Greater safety, greater comfort, greater looks/styling... Winning!!!!

So, if you're a bit on the wild side and maybe push the limits sometimes and don't currently have a set of upgraded harnesses, or if you're just looking for added safety regardless of your riding style plus greater comfort.......reach out and see what options we have for you and your machine!!!!

Modern machines do typically come with more than they used too....or at least semi-better chassis components for protection of your undercarriage and A-arms. But they're still not as good as what aftermarket offers. That's a case of what we have here. Some may recognize this from the other work we've done here. (Inferno Cab Heaters, full cab enclosure, Trail Armor A-Arm guards to name a few...) The last step this customer wanted for some added protection was a set of rock sliders for the sides of the undercarriage. He didn't want anything big and bulky that pushed out well past the machine. So after doing a bit of research to try and find something for him I ended up coming across these from Factory UTV. They're .5" UHMW that fit using factory provisions in the frame. They fit well and blend into the machines profile perfectly almost to a point where they're not even noticeable. In the end the customer was super happy with how they fit and blended in without being bulky or changing the look of the machine.

So, as always, if you're in the market for accessories for your SxS or ATV, reach out to us here at RPGraphix and see what options we can get for your machine. Whether it's undercarriage protection, new wheels/tires, lighting, tuning or maintenance items. We have a large selection of aftermarket powersports manufacturers to get your machine the way you want it!!!
