“Cumberland Falls Ride”— Wed Sept 2nd. Cumberland Falls is up in middle Kentucky—so we got an early start— leaving the house right after 8am. We rode north on Clinton Hwy to Clinton— stopping to fill up and get our morning snack— then continued north on 25W up to Rocky Top, then up to Jacksboro and on into LaFollette. In downtown LaFollette we turned left and stayed on 25W riding up into the mountains and up into Jellico. We continued on 25W riding into Kentucky and up to Williamsburg. In Williamsburg, we turned west onto 92 and rode that all the way to Pine Knot. We then got on 27n and rode north till we came to 90E — a beautiful winding road that brought us into the back door of the Cumberland Falls viewing area. We stayed and enjoyed the falls ( spectacular views being able to get close from the several different viewing areas )-then we got back on the bikes and rode 90 into Corbin. We picked out the Old Town Grill to eat lunch in Corbin— had a little trouble finding it— but Pam pulled out the google machine and we quickly made our way to a late lunch. At the Old Town Grill (right on 25E)—we had a great lunch— and the folks were friendly. We finished lunch right at 2pm— then got back on 25E and headed south to Barbourville— Pineville and then into Middlesboro. We continued on 25E into Tazewell where we stopped for a very refreshing Frosty ( temps had reached 97 🥵🥵🥵). After our break— we continued south and got on 33 thru Maynardville and finally back into Knoxville. We got home right at 4:45 pm and our total mileage was 248 miles. What a great ride😀😀😀

“Dolly Tribute Ride”— Wed Aug 26th. Dolly passed away yesterday- we watched “9 to 5 “ last night— so we thought it only appropriate to ride thru our beautiful mountains and celebrate Dolly and all she’s done for the folks here in East Tennessee. We left home at 8:45 and rode to downtown Knoxville to see the Dolly Mural right behind Market Square— then headed down Chapman Hwy to Seymour— then headed south toward Maryville. In Maryville, we continued south on 321 — rode thru Walland- Townsend then stayed on 73 to ride thru the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It was a perfect day to ride thru the Smokies—light traffic— cool breeze and full sunshine. After riding thru the Park—we got to Gatlinburg— rode thru to Pigeon Forge and then rode down 449 to Dollywood to get a pic. We continued up to Sevierville— and went to eat lunch at Frank Allen’s Deli and Market ( according to the web-this is Dolly’s favorite place to eat in Sevierville). Great hamburgers and super friendly folks— highly recommended. After lunch, we rode to downtown Sevierville to visit the Dolly Statue on the courthouse lawn. There was a big crowd- really a feel good moment. After our visit— we rode down 66 to Dumplin Valley— then took 139 over to 11E and finally back into Knoxville. It was really a nice ride— and nice to be able to be part of Dolly’s tribute. 😃😃😃
