Look, we know we're not dealing with snow chains and ice scrapers here in Northern Arizona all the time... but Arizona winter IS a thing, and your vehicle needs to be ready for it and maintained throughout it.

Here's what actually matters for Arizona winter driving:

✅ TIRE PRESSURE - Our temperature swings are wild. Cold mornings mean low pressure. Check it weekly.

✅ BATTERY HEALTH - Cold starts are hard on batteries. If yours is 3+ years old, get it tested. Breaking down in 30-degree weather isn't fun.

✅ HEATER & DEFROSTER - You'll need them on those frosty White Mountain mornings. Make sure they actually work.

✅ WINDSHIELD WIPERS - Monsoon season is over, but winter rain happens. Replace them if they're streaky.

✅ COOLANT/ANTIFREEZE - Yes, even in Arizona. It protects against freezing AND overheating.

✅ EMERGENCY KIT - Blanket, flashlight, water, snacks. If you're heading up to the mountains or across the state, be prepared.

Service department questions I LOVE answering (seriously, ask me anything) 🔧

A lot of people are nervous to ask questions about their vehicle because they think they'll sound dumb. But here's the truth: there are NO dumb questions when it comes to your car.

Here are some of my favorites that I get asked all the time:

❓ "How often should I REALLY change my oil?"
❓ "Is that noise normal or should I be worried?"
❓ "What's the difference between synthetic and regular oil?"
❓ "Can I drive it like this or do I need to fix it now?"
❓ "Why does my car smell like that?"
❓ "Is this repair actually necessary or can it wait?"
❓ "How much longer will this vehicle last if I take care of it?"
❓ "What should I prioritize fixing first?"

I LOVE these questions because they show you care about your vehicle and want to make smart decisions. That's exactly what I'm here for.

No question is too basic. No concern is too small. If you're wondering about it, ask. I'd rather spend 5 minutes explaining something than have you worry about it or ignore a real problem.

Things Found in Trade-Ins 🚗

It's been... an interesting few days in some service departments. Let us paint you a picture:

#1:
Found 47 French fries under the driver's seat of a minivan. FORTY. SEVEN. They were fossilized. We're pretty sure they predated the warranty.

#2:
Customer: "There's a weird rattling noise."
Tech: *finds 6 months worth of empty soda cans rolling around in the back*
Customer: "Oh yeah, I've been meaning to clean that out."
SIR. THAT'S NOT A RATTLING NOISE. THAT'S A MOBILE RECYCLING CENTER.

#3:
Opened a glove box. Found:
→ 3 insurance cards (all expired)
→ 47 napkins from different fast food places
→ A single shoe (just one, no idea where the other went)
→ Was that a sandwich at some point?

No owner's manual though. Never the owner's manual. 😂

#4:
Guy traded in his truck. Said "it's pretty clean."
There was a full rotisserie chicken in the bed. Still in the container, and didn't look fresh.

#5:
Found a note taped to the visor that said "OIL CHANGE DUE 37,000 MILES AGO."
At least they were self-aware? 🤷♂️
