Healthy paint, even with chips and scratches, should not be further damaged by most pressure washing. Yes, there is a point where a powerful enough pressure washer could damage paint, but nearly all used at car washes and by detailers are safe. Some compromised areas (bird p**p that was left too long, other acidic solutions left too long, etc) can peel a little with any irritation, but that damage would remain in a very localized area. Overall you should never worry about the pressure washers used during a hand wash and detailing.
