Tribute Golf Tournament will tee-off Saturday, May 7, 2022. This annual tournament brings together an array of friends and family of the late Sam Speer, Jr., who was tragically killed, along with his wife Carrie, in a motorcycle accident in October 2013. The Carrie On Scholarship Fund is in honor of Carrie Reeb Speer.

After graduating in 1978, Carrie began teaching in New Orleans, LA. Anyone who was lucky enough to be a student, a colleague, or a friend of Carrie, knew that she had met her calling, even at a young age. ​

After moving their family to the Northshore, Carrie began her tenure as an English teacher at Northshore High in the fall of 1986. After 15 years, she transitioned to Slidell High where she became a guidance counselor. Planning to retire at the end of the year, her life long quest to educate, guide and care for young students left a lifetime of lessons and memories.

To honor her dedication and commitment to education, the Carrie On Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to outstanding seniors at Slidell High School.

To date, over $70,000 has been awarded to these promising students!

Let's Go Golfers!!

​We invite you all to join us for the ELEVENTH ANNUAL Sam Speer, Jr. Tribute Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 4, 2024!

On October 13, 2013, the lives and love story of Sam Speer Jr, and his wife Carrie came to a tragic end. To memorialize his life, we combined Sam's three passions...friends, family, and golf.

All tournament proceeds will benefit the Carrie On Scholarship Fund. We have already awarded over $70,000 in college scholarships to outstanding seniors at Slidell High School to date!

Our family would love for you to join us for a morning of golf & fellowship including hole games, hospitality tents, silent auction, raffle prizes, food and beverages!
