🐾 Our friends at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society are currently at capacity.
That means every kennel is full, every foster space matters, and every adoption can make a difference.

🚨 WE ARE AT CAPACITY 🚨
Right now, more than 300 animals are in our care.
Every available kennel is occupied, and our resources are being stretched further each day.
Last week alone, we took in 139 animals.
When shelters reach this level capacity, the animals feel it first.
Within days, we've seen more stress-related behaviors as the shelter becomes more crowded.
More animals means more noise, less space, and less individual attention, making the shelter environment harder for animals to cope with.
This is more than a numbers problem.
It's a welfare problem.
But this crisis is not without hope.
We believe in this community, and we're asking for your help again.

We are critically low on foster homes.
Fostering for any period of time saves lives and relieves pressure on the shelter.

🔹 Rescue Dog Recess
Take a shelter dog out for a few hours. A walk, a car ride, or simply a quiet nap away from the shelter can make a tremendous difference in a dog's mental well-being.

Volunteers help provide enrichment, exercise, and much-needed attention. The more helping hands we have, the better care we can provide during this challenging time.
