1970 Pontiac GTO “The Judge” with Starlight Black paint and Expanded Morrokide Red bucket seat interior. We transported this Judge from the owner’s house back to our Garage for some much needed TLC and factory correct parts. The engine had a few oil leaks and missing a few correct parts, the transmission was incorrect and now has a period correct Muncie M21 with the correct Hurst 4 speed shifter. The original Nodular iron rear end housing had an oil leak, unfortunately all the ring gear bolts were loose and 1 fell out that created some carnage. Completely rebuilt now with 3.36:1 gears and an Auburn posi unit. The 15” rims and tires are being replaced with the correct 14” x 6” JT Rally II wheels with Firestone Wide Oval radials. The original carburetor was missing, and the owner bought a correct 7040273 WC. They brought this to me and the first thing I noticed is the pad was thin for the stamping, which means someone machined the pad and restamped the body. Hopefully they will get the money back, you must be very careful when buying parts from someone you do not know. The Red bucket seat covers were replaced after years of wear and tear. The 400 WS Ram Air III engine will get some new gaskets, seals and a fresh coat of Pontiac blue metallic paint. The correct 1100704 37 amp alternator was located and concours restored by Jon N. All engine brackets, pulleys and Ram Air pan have been restored, sway bars and cross member are powder coated. The engine will breath through factory exhaust manifolds, hooked up to a new Gardner concours exhaust system with Turbo mufflers and chrome splitters. 🇺🇸

Another cool Pontiac project, 1965 GTO. This one is owned by the same family since new and still retains the original Capri Gold paint.
In for a complete power train rebuild, interior work, new top with the correct crushed grain binding, Gardner exhaust system and white wall tires with dog dish hub caps! The original patina will remain on the body and under carriage, with the engine getting some fresh Pontiac blue paint after rebuild! 🇺🇸

The first Judge…
Pontiac Motor Division was looking for a way to compete with the other Muscle Car companies in early October 1968 and ordered a Carousel Red GTO to use for the new GTO option. While this car was being built and to figure out what they wanted for The Judge package, they used a green GTO and painted it Carousel Red, added a wing and a white stipe which ended at the door.
Built on the 5th week of October 1968 (cowl tag 10 E) in Baltimore, Maryland as a Carousel Red GTO, it was then transported to the Pontiac retail store on wide trac boulevard in Pontiac, Mi., to have the Judge option installed. “The first Judge” was born and then used in December 1968 for early advertising/promotional pictures for the January release of the new GTO option, “The Judge”. Documented with 2 build sheets, Pontiac Motor Division sold it to Coast Pontiac in Fullerton, Ca. on June 9th, 1969 as an out of service Pontiac Division company car with just over 7,500 miles. This Judge disappeared until 2014 when Scott McWorter purchased it from a co-worker, whose family had it in barns for around 30 years. Previously in the early 1980’s, the Judge stripes were removed, and they duplicated the 69 Royal GTO that was Crystal Turquoise/white, except they used Carousel Red with black. Scott wanted to build a Resto Mod project when he bought the car, then 5 years later he contacted Pontiac Historical Services (PHS) and got the good news about what he had. His plans then changed and he was going to restore it, after another 5 years he contacted Jim Mattison at PHS again and wanted to find someone that would appreciate and be able to restore The first Judge back to its original condition. August 2024, I was in the right place at the right time, bought the first Judge ever built and drove to Windsor, Co. to meet Scott and transport this rare Pontiac back to NC for Concours Restoration! After spending a little over a year collecting a few parts needed and getting lined up with one of the best concours restoration shops in the business. I am very excited to announce that we will be working with Super Car Restoration to bring “The first Judge” back to life. Jammie and his talented crew will perform and specialize in fabrication, bodywork and some of the best paint jobs you will ever see! Happy New Year to all!!! 🇺🇸

Five years ago, I turned my passion for Muscle Cars into a business and have had some of the best customers/cars supporting me along the way. After a multiyear concours restoration, finishing up the 71 Judge was a huge accomplishment & challenge with many lessons learned along the way. Special thanks to everyone involved with getting this Judge completed. The end results were Concours Gold awards at the 2025 GTOAA Nationals in Kingsport, Tn. and the Muscle Car and corvette nationals in Chicago, very happy for a great customer! Another milestone this year for our customer with her 70 Judge convertible that was finished in May 2024, winning the prestigious AACA Zenith award! They judge well over 3,000 cars each year and pick 2 cars at each national event. Those 18 cars competed at the Packard museum in Dayton, Ohio for the Zenith award. This is the first time in the 9 year history that a Muscle car has won and a female car owner! She also received the AACA Grand National award the following day at the US Air Force museum. The next show was in Chicago at the Muscle Car and corvette nationals, she earned a concours gold, leading Lady award and outstanding restoration. Another great year and very thankful to every customer past and present for your continued support and trust, also many of my Pontiac friends that share knowledge and have rare parts! The next concours restoration will be my personal 69 Judge! Looking forward to 2026, wishing everyone a happy, safe and prosperous New Year! 🇺🇸

We were honored to Join the class of 1970 invitational display with our customers Judge convertible, at the world’s best Muscle Car show. Her Dad checked it in as a brand new car at Thomas Pontiac in Parkersburg, Wv. on 12/2/69 and purchased it from the original owner in 1974. The airtight history, 100% matching numbers and 2 family ownership on this Judge made it a very special restoration from the start. We teamed up with Barnes Classic Restorations, they performed all the fabrication, bodywork and Polar white paint! On a sad note, our thoughts and prayers are with the owner as she had to cancel plans to attend and spend time with family while her grandmother passed away. 😢. She was honored to win the Leading Lady award, Inline Tube Outstanding Restoration and a Concours Gold award with her family Judge! Special thanks to Bob, and all the MCACN staff that make this the best Muscle Car show! 🇺🇸
