Brand new 5.2 predator block and used GT350 heads with oem valves and springs. $6000 picked up in 06484. Was going to build these if my GT500 stuff took a hard hit but we are good to go and staying 5.4/5.8

There are head gaskets and 2 head bolts holding heads on so nothing gets damaged.

Some fast car water pump tech for you guys that I learned myself this week.

Do not run a thermostat with a electric water pump on a mod motor or coyote. They inherently run hot in cylinder 4 and 8.

Now let's review the actual data that backs this up and why.

1st pic was the first time we pressurized the coolant system at SCBR with thermostat and electric pump. We changed to a oem style Navigator water pump and that is the 2nd pic. You can see it flattens out but spikes when the head gasket got hurt.

Not sure if the deck got hurt in cylinder 8 from the over pressurizing by the electric water pump. We are pretty sure we found the culprit and it was a culmination of multiple issues in that 1 area.

Now you know. Ill never run another electric water pump on another car, ever. My buddy and fellow racer Richard C. Flint educated me on what he found in his own combination and it was my problem also.

The actual problem is that once pressure builds in the system the electric water pump goes from 55 gpm to like 10gpm which is absolutely nothing.

Some pics from SCBR. Lots of parts issues got us this time out. Had a brand new reverse solenoid fail after 1 pass so that was the beginning of the spiral..lol. Then Meizer water pump caused issues in cylinder 8 to become too hot...then injector in cylinder 7 ....thats racing sometimes.

However we were top 11 car of 112 cars being hurt so im very happy the chassis is doing what its supposed to and we can continue to push after the shortblock comes back from repairs.

We have a real deal hot rod. 27 psi, 3500lb street car...7.32 @ 181mph on 7 cylinders.....Sadly we encountered a waterpump issue that ended up hurting cyl 8 and then on the same run lost injector in cylinder 7 which has been ruled a completely seperate issues. The water seal grommet inside the connector kept the injector plug from fully engaging. Sh*tty but no catastrophic failure thankfully. Should have the shortblock back in a month.
