This 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD came into Beer's Automotive with a transmission that wasn't shifting correctly. Our technician scanned for codes, checked the transmission fluid level, and discovered something important… there wasn't even any fluid showing on the dipstick!
After adding 9 quarts of transmission fluid, a test drive confirmed the truck was shifting properly again. The culprit? A leaking auxiliary transmission cooler that had allowed a significant amount of fluid to escape.
The fix? Replace the leaking cooler and address the source of the problem—not just the symptoms!
💡 The takeaway: If your vehicle isn't shifting correctly, don't automatically assume the transmission itself has failed. A fluid leak can cause serious shifting problems, too.
At Beer's Automotive, we believe in finding the cause, explaining the problem, and helping you make informed decisions about your vehicle.
