It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved friend, Russell Vopelak. He left this world on Sunday evening, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be remembered.
Russell was not only a dear friend to many but also a passionate enthusiast of the Cadillac Allante and XLR. He possessed a profound love for these remarkable automobiles, which reflected his appreciation for elegance, style, and craftsmanship. He dedicated countless hours to researching, discussing, and admiring the unique features of the Cadillac Allante, truly embodying an enthusiasm for the automotive world.
Beyond his love for cars, Russell touched the lives of those around him with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering friendship. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together, always making others feel heard, valued, and cared for. His infectious and vibrant spirit will forever remain etched in our hearts.
As we mourn the loss of our dear friend, let us also celebrate the life he lived. Let us remember him for his unwavering passion, his contagious enthusiasm, and the joy he brought to our lives. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his loving wife Paula, his family and his friends during this difficult time. May you find solace in the beautiful memories you shared and the legacy he leaves behind.

Hello Allanté XLR members and owners.

All good news. 1st up, I will be leaving on the Allanté repair tour this Wednesday morning. Driving from NJ to Florida. Down 95 and up 75. So, if you’re in need of anything let me know asap. I do carry lot of extras so you may be in luck. Now once I get to Florida and see my Buddy Dick Hussey from Allanté source, I can pick up any part you may need.

Most of you that pick up your emails, already know about one of the largest Allanté events will happened August 20 to 23, 2020. The Allanté XLR Invitational offered to host the 18th National Cadillac Allanté XLR clubs Show / Vacation. Some ask why you have vacation in the title. That is because I always have side trips to and from the event which makes a short weekend into a VACATION. Quite a few of us drive a long distance including myself. I ask others coming from the west or south to do the same. If your coming from the east, we will be doing Sandusky with an island ride to PUT IN BAY park. An Allanté owner owns a Hotel restaurant there. Food was fantastic. So go to the website www.CadillacAllanteClub.com its all on the home page.

Oh, sorry forgot to mention the host hotel is sold out. There is one right next door, walking distance and if your have an inkling, book it because it will sell out too. The 28th Metro cruise is the 2nd largest street cruise in the country. And just wait till you witness the hospitality of Denny and Monica Backis who run the Allanté XLR Invitational.

I should mention the feature car of the show will be the Mary Kay Allanté edition. Joe Russo is taking the challenge and will find everything there is to know about these very limited autos’ and this year he will award the Best of Show Mary Kay. So, if you own one, get there…

When I get back to the Allanté Repair shop, I need to get rid of some of these Allantés. My landlords pretty mad at me. When I rented, he said 6, how bout I got 30. So, we will start auction them off. Remember members have first shot. OK I gotta go. Stay warm…… Johnny

The Cadillac Allante XLR Club and the Allante community lost a valued friend yesterday. Rich Bernardo (Pictured on the right with John Monzo at this years Portland Maine Allante meet) died Thursday morning of a heart attack. From Delaware Rich was an active part of the Allante community for 19-years. In that time he only missed ONE event put on by the Allante XLR Club. Rich was always there to lend a helping hand and will be missed by all who knew him.

Details on services for Rich will follow. We’d like to make a showing of Allantes at the funeral to show love for Rich and his love for the Allante. If you can join us please contact John Monzo 609-634-6518 or Mike Astringer 609-280-1367.

We are going to hit the Italian American Festival and Car Show in Pennsauken New Jersey HARD tomorrow! The Allante is the featured car. Come join us for a great show, great food and great fellowship with fellow Allante owners! John Monzo will be tied up today but if you are interested in joining us tomorrow contact Mike Astringer 609-280-1367.

After the show we'll be having dinner at the famous Pub Restaurant (http://www.thepubnj.com).

If you are traveling to the area and need a car wash before the show Mike can direct you to a hand car wash in Cherry Hill a few minutes from the show.

We will be attending the Pennsauken Car Show on September 22, 2019. Cars line up along Maple Ave in Pennsauken. I attend this show every year as my buddy Duke is Pennsauken's Director of Parks and Recreation and puts on this show. He asked me to bring more Allantes.
