1990 Ford E-350 7.5l v8 Motor Home

🧰🔧Rear brake service⚙️⚒️

Customer stated that he drove down the road to the gas station and heard noises from the rear. Had another person come out and pull drivers side brake assembly apart, and was not able to return. Normally I reject jobs the require me coming behind someone else. They typically lead to chaos. This job however I was able to find the correct diagrams online and get all the springs back into their correct position.

Replaced both wheel cylinders while we were in there as well. This job took longer than expected as the conditions weren’t consistent with the anticipated repair times. Had to schedule the customer for a 4 wheel brake bleed as both wheel cylinders had been leaking for so long that air has entered the system.

Unpopular opinion…. If you are not ASE certified, you shouldn’t be touching someone else’s vehicle. Point blank period. These kids with no experience and no schooling going to harbor freight and watching YouTube are going to cost you, the consumer A LOT of money. Just because you had/have a job working as a mechanic, that doesn’t mean you’re a mechanic.

Further more, if you are advertising every day multiple times a day, and then messaging other mechanics how they would quote jobs, you probably need to put the tools down bud.

Any who, I in fact have 3 ASE certifications, an extensive portfolio of heavy duty certifications, with over 15 years experience, I’m a mechanic you can trust that has the proper schooling and knowledge to diagnose and repair your vehicle.

What it looked like this afternoon at 3pm when I started vs when I finished for the evening at 7:30.

2019 Ford Explorer Platinum 3.5 twin turbo
Motor replacement due to water pump failure.

On the Ford 3.5’s, the water pump is located behind the timing chain. Without keeping a watchful eye on your coolant level, it would be very hard for you tell if your water pump is beginning to fail. It is highly recommended you check and record your coolant level at least twice a month. Neglecting this small detail could wind up landing you in the same boat this customer is.
