This beautifully restored 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback Custom combines iconic first-generation Mustang styling with serious performance and a long list of upgrades.
Originally built in Metuchen, New Jersey on July 20, 1966, this Mustang was born with a 289/200HP V8, 4-speed manual transmission and Wimbledon White exterior with Red Luxury interior. Today, it has been transformed into an incredible driver and show-quality custom.
The car is powered by a professionally rebuilt 308ci V8 by NATS Engines, dyno tested at 398HP, featuring an Eagle crank, S**t rods, Mahle forged pistons, Howards roller cam, Ford Racing 302X aluminum heads, Scorpion roller rockers and Edelbrock Performer RPM intake. An Edelbrock AV2 650 carburetor, electronic ignition and Taylor wires keep the combination running strong.
Power is sent through a rebuilt Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual transmission with a McLeod Street Pro 10.5" clutch before reaching the rebuilt Ford 8" Positraction rear end with 3.55 gears. A Borgeson power steering system, front disc brakes with 4-piston calipers, larger front sway bar, KYB shocks and lowered suspension provide improved handling and drivability.
The exterior was stripped and refinished in its original Wimbledon White, wet sanded, buffed and detailed to a show-quality finish. Red GT stripes, chrome GT grille with fog lights, GT gas cap, GT/302 emblems and new chrome 15" mag wheels give this Mustang an unmistakable look. The wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich Silverstone Radial 215/65R15 Redline tires.
Inside, the restored Red Luxury interior perfectly complements the exterior. Highlights include bucket seats, simulated wood trim, wood steering wheel, Rally Pac with RPM gauge and clock, SST shifter with white ball and a Retro-Sound audio system.
