Time to start making sense of the spaghetti! 🍝🏍️

In the latest K75 cafe racer build episode I’m working through the electrical system — wrap-around sequential LED indicators, Deutsch connectors, original BMW switchgear, clutch and brake switches, rear LED lighting and the LED headlight.

And at the end, the TENET BMW K-Series speedo finally finds its home on the bike. Wiring that little beast comes later!

I’ll also be adding downloadable K75 wiring diagrams and electrical resources to the Tink Customs website as the build develops.

The 1979 Honda CB750 Cafe Racer build continues — and we're getting into the details that really change the look and feel of the bike. 🏍️🔧

This time we're working on the cafe racer seat, making a template for a completely custom seat, sorting the under-seat electrical tray and fitting the rearsets, brake pedal and gearshift.

Then it's time to get that gearshift rod adjusted properly!

More progress on the ! This time I'm ditching the original rear shock and fitting a new horizontal monoshock. That meant removing the old suspension, modifying the frame, getting some welding help, cleaning up the welds, smoothing everything with JB Weld and a mini grinder, then getting the frame ready for paint.

It's starting to look very different from the BMW K75 that rolled into the workshop!

The CB750 is starting to come back together! 🏍️🔧

Episode 3 of the build sees me stripping and cleaning the rear end, getting the swingarm and rearset mounts painted, fitting the shocks and finally getting the rear wheel back on. Plus a LOT of deliberation over exactly which shade of black to use… because apparently black isn't just black. 😂

And we're starting to get a first idea of what the cafe racer seat might look like.

🏍️ NEW VIDEO — BMW K75 CAFE RACER BUILD TIME LAPSE (PART 1)

This BMW K75 project has already been through a LOT of changes, so I thought it was time to step back and put the journey so far into one big time lapse.

From the original BMW K75 to the stripped-down custom cafe racer taking shape in the workshop, this is the build so far — all the weight saving, ABS removal, frame chopping, fork shortening, custom seat ideas, paint tests and plenty of other modifications along the way.

This episode is all about the rear end — fabricating the rear frame hoop, welding in the shock mounts, shortening the frame for the new seat and generally making a mess with the grinder. 😂There's also a new front sprocket, the beginnings of a paint scheme, and… another horrible Honda for sale!

I finally get the adapted clutch lever working before moving on to modifying the throttle and choke cables to suit the new controls. Using solder-on cable ni***es and a few simple workshop techniques, I adapt the original BMW cables instead of replacing everything with expensive custom-made items.

The BMW K75 Cafe Racer Project continues as I focus on some of the finishing touches that make a huge difference to both the appearance and functionality of the bike.

In this episode I begin test fitting the new LED lighting, adapt aftermarket brake and clutch levers to work with the original BMW cables, and see how everything comes together with the new switchgear.

Although these seem like small jobs, they're an important part of turning an older BMW into a clean, modern cafe racer while retaining reliability and good ergonomics.
