We're excited to bring ROWENA to the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival from September 11-13. Hope to see you there!

Rowena is a 1963 Philip Rhodes cutter, built of Honduras mahogany on oak frames with teak decks and varnished Sitka spruce spars. She crossed to Hawaii in four Transpac races between 1965 and 1973, placed second in the 1991 San Diego to Maui Race, and took third in her division at the 1992 Master Mariners Regatta.

She has benefited from a succession of exceptional owners who sailed and cared for her well, and has a way of bringing people together. In harbors up and down the West Coast, strangers have stepped forward to share stories of time aboard, passages made, and cherished family memories.

For the last five years, Rowena has been cruising from Port Townsend through the Inside Passage to Alaska, Haida Gwaii, and down the west coast of Vancouver Island. Strong and steady under sail, exhilarating when pressed, and comfortable to live aboard for months at a time, being Rowena’s current stewards has given her owners more than they could have imagined.
