***TRAFFIC DELAYS***
5:30 am - roadway is back open. And all emergency vehicles are clear.

Update - 5:10 am

Westbound traffic is completely shut down to allow Geissen’s room to work.

Officers and Fayette County Sheriff's Office, Texas- Sheriff Keith Korenek Deputies are currently on scene of an overturned box truck on IH-10 westbound about 1 mile from the Schulenburg exit. Traffic is down to one lane at this time. Please slow down while we work to clear the roadway.

Geissen's Towing Service just helped me out of a locked vehicle pinch. Very nice, very prompt, very happy to have called upon them.

They are out of Schulenburg but service the area. I hope to not need their assistance again but if I should I'll certainly call them.

***DRUGS ‘N GUNS***

On Sunday, August 25, at approximately 11:29 pm, Officers stopped a 2022 Toyota Corolla on IH-10 WB near MM 671 for a traffic violation.

While speaking to the driver, Officers observed an AR style pistol in plain view and could smell ma*****na coming from the vehicle. The driver was detained and a probable cause search was conducted.

The AR was found to have a round chambered with an extended magazine inserted. 3 individual baggies of Ma*****na were located along with a G***k 23 with an extended magazine as well.

The driver, Antonio Almestica (22), of San Antonio, was arrested for Possession of Marinuana

Just cleared scene of a 2nd accident for the day due to vehicles hydroplaning off the roadway. PLEASE SLOW DOWN if you must travel in the rain today! Update- 12:30pm- roadway is clear

Deputy Herman Olvera and Sgt. Randy Thumann are on the scene of a 2 vehicle accident on Hwy 90 at IH-10, between Schulenburg and Weimar.

Hwy 90 west bound is currently blocked. Please expect delays and be mindful of first responders working the scene.

***DRUGS, GUNS, GANG MEMBER***

On Saturday, May 4, at approximately 8:16 pm, Officers conducted a traffic stop on IH-10 EB near MM 675 on a white in color box truck dir a traffic violation.

While speaking with the driver, Officers smelled Ma*****na coming from the vehicle. Due to the odor a probable cause search was conducted.

During the search, Officers located a usable amount of Ma*****na and a loaded handgun. It was also learned the driver was a gang member.

Quincy Moss (32), of Houston, was arrested for the following charges:
1) Possession of Firearm by Gang Member
2) Possession of Ma*****na
