Buying or selling a trailer?
Before you exchange money or sign paperwork, make sure your Bill of Sale is filled out completely and accurately!
Here’s what you should include:
✅ Seller’s Information
Full legal name
Complete address
✅ Buyer’s Information
Full legal name
Complete address
Phone number
Date of birth (if an individual) or EIN (if a business), when required
✅ Trailer Information
Year
Make/Manufacturer
Style (utility, boat, horse, etc.)
Empty weight and GVWR/GVR
Complete VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)
✅ Sale Information
Purchase price
Date of sale
Seller’s signature

🔹 Double-check that the VIN on your paperwork matches the VIN on the trailer.
🔹 Make sure all information is legible and accurate.
🔹 Don’t leave important sections blank!
🔹 Depending on your trailer, additional paperwork may be needed, especially for homemade trailers or trailers with shorter VINs. (ask)
