To Friends of SRE from Andy Greene

To All,
My best wishes to Ted and Lori as they begin their well deserved retirement! As much as I hate to see them go, I'm very excited to be working with Wayne and Henry as the new owner of Savannah Race Engineering. I will continue to operate Andy Greene Sports and Vintage Race Cars LLC in the same space, and our combined resources and capabilities will enhance the services we already offer.

In addition to the very nice introduction Ted gave me, I 'd like to mention that I've been a Ferrari specialist since the late 70's, particularly pre 1973 street and race cars. I've been rebuilding engines and gearboxes for other shops, and doing everything from routine services to full restorations for owners nation wide. We also have extensive experience with Lancia and Alfa Romeo race cars as well.

I look forward to meeting SRE's customers that are new to me and reconnecting with old friends from vintage racing as the new head of this great company!

Best Regards,
Andy Greene

Dear Friends of Savannah Race Engineering,

After 55 years in the racing engine business, I will be stepping back to enjoy some free time. Long time friend and business associate Andy Greene will take over ownership and management here at SRE. Andy is well known to most of you and brings years of experience in engine building, restoration and race preparation. He's also a talented driver, so has first hand knowledge of what is required. The blending of Andy's business, Andy Greene Sports and Vintage Race Cars, with SRE will broaden capabilities and improve the range of services that are provided.

Andy encouraged Lori and I to relocate to Savannah some 10 years ago, and as our neighbor, has worked closely with Wayne and Henry on countless projects. The comfortable working relationship that we all share has been a source of great satisfaction to me and I am pleased that both Wayne and Henry will be continuing with Andy in the future of the new SRE.

I will remain available for special projects at the new SRE and will drive at a few events with our newly restored March IndyCar as well, so Lori and I will continue to see you at the track. Meanwhile, I'd like to thank you all for so many years of loyal patronage and warm friendship.

Sincerely,
Ted Wenz

Despite the weather playing cat and mouse all day (sun, rain, sun, rain) there was plenty of good racing and podium finishes for Team SRE. Congrats to Willis Woerheide and Tom Fraelich. Well done!

OK..So here's where the fun starts...
We're mapping the Polimotor (with Matti Holtzberg and Ole Buhl) doing just fine, and the question arises, "Would it make more power without the plenum?"
Of course, if you remove the plenum, there is no throttle body to run anything but WIDE OPEN.
So..we wire the TPS full open so that full fuel is delivered, set the rev limiter to avoid complete disaster...and what the heck...PUSH THE BUTTON...
Answer, YES! It makes more without the plenum.
This thing is indestructable!!
