Just realized we never posted this winter project truck we finished up recently. 2002 S10 Extreme with an ls swap. This lil truck put down 410hp to the rear wheels with the assistance of Josh @ Performance Dyno. The donor driveline was sourced from a 04 GTO salvage vehicle (5.7 LS1, 4L60) we then stripped the engine down to a shortblock and installed Texas Speed & Performance 224r Cam, Prc stg 1 ported ls6 heads with dual springs, and all supporting mods. We used Holley 's S10 ls swap motor mounts, heater box cover, long tubes, full exhaust (extended to fit ext cab), oil pan, steering shaft etc, ICT Billet LLC accessory brackets to install all the factory s10 accessories onto the new engine, and allow for adequate clearance of the powersteering pump pulley to steering box (a common issue with this swap), to wire it all up we sourced a complete plug and play harness and unlocked ecu from Current Performance Wiring which allowed for full factory functionality including all stock gauges and obd2 port etc, fueling was supplied by a Quantum Fuel Systems drop in high flow fuel pump assembly. To hold the new found power we also installed a S10 blazer zr2 8.5" rear axle with 3.73 gears and a factory locker and disc brakes, this rear end is substantially stronger, but is also wider than the standard s10 axle, the added width allowed us to install the corvette wheels with no spacers or mods in the rear. This truck was previously lowered on Belltech Suspension lowering coils, rear leafs, and nitro drop shocks all around. While this is a relatively involved swap project, it was amazing the incredible aftermarket support offered for these trucks and the time that was saved by utilizing off the shelf components.
