A set of rear rotors off a four door passenger car. Both rotors are unserviceable. One of which is clearly destroyed. If you hear a noise that isn’t normal coming from your vehicle, have it checked out. Most places do free inspections(Randy’s Brake Repair). In this case the customer was extremely lucky that more damage than just to the one rotor wasn’t caused. This could have been very costly if a caliper had come apart. Not only that but dangerous on the road, something like this can lead to a loss of braking abilities.
Having your vehicle inspected in a routine basis by someone you trust can increase the longevity of your vehicle.

Be sure to ask your repair shop to measure the rotors before replacing them. In some cases the rotors can be "resurfaced" and reused instead of replaced. Every dollar counts! Also, just replacing the pads and not resurfacing the rotors when necessary can cause a squeak to occur.

Get your vehicle prepared for the summer trip!
Don't be fooled by fancy "specials" that are typically met with cheap inefficient parts. If you don't feel comfortable with a shop that is inspecting your vehicle, don't be afraid to leave. Stop by or give me a call for a free estimate, make sure you ask for Randy!
