What a way to mark International Woman’s Day! Congratulations Cole Brauer Ocean Racing

Cole Brauer, the 29-year-old skipper from New York, has made history as the first American woman to race solo around the globe. After over 130 days at sea, Brauer arrived in A Coruña, Spain aboard her Class 40, First Light. Brauer finished second overall in the race.

A note from our CEO:

The accomplishments at KYA in the first month of 2024 have been anything but average. The energy and excitement is thundering against our walls as we relentlessly work towards making our mark in the yacht brokerage industry. We take what we know through our significant experience, and then challenge ourselves to think creatively and critically in order to deliver a service that aligns with the times. I love that this is who we are!

The architect of so many of our advancements and successes, is my business partner, and KYA’s Managing Partner, Justin Cohen. While I worked with him for many years at a previous employer, it is here at KYA that I have been able to witness (and benefit from) the full force of his intellect and strategic vision. He delivers on a daily basis, and I am simply in awe of his energy and capabilities. Each time he presents a new idea, or perspective, I recognize how lucky I am that he agreed to team up with me on this venture. A decision I’m sure he reevaluates each time I post something with personality on our insta (I know you’re dying to take social media away from my list of responsibilities, Justin 😂).

But his business and tech prowess is not only what makes me lucky. It’s his friendship. No matter what is happening in the background, he puts a significant effort into ensuring we have a healthy relationship, which translates to a healthy environment for our people. Driven by a true commitment to the people he cares about, I’ve benefitted from his respect, empathy and protection so many times, in a world that severely lacks it. And I am grateful to him for all of the above.

Thank you, Justin, for KYA, and for making me laugh every day! Now you know what that dumpster fire of a “photoshoot” was for and to apologize for embarrassing you like this, I’ll grab some bagels on the way in :)
