I’ve been injured so I haven’t been able to take the Comet ☄️ out this summer. It’s been a bummer. Letting you know this beautiful car still exists and is still a charmer. It’s amazing to see the stark contrast between modern cars parked next to it. It’s my humble opinion that you just can’t beat the styling of a classic car. True-blue American craftsmanship. 🇺🇸

This was the FIRST ever car show! It was a pleasure to do so with my oldest son. This was an absolute blast to be able to show off some of the hard work and $ to get this baby up and running. Have you ever seen one of these before?! They were a showroom dealer option for all Ford’s. Usually hung off the dashboard k***s but I placed it in the back for the kids to keep things clean and tidy. The previous owner took out the rear ashtray. I found an original and restored it back. (I’ll polish and seal later.) Ain’t this the coolest?! Love these little things. You can pick one up on eBay. A company re-manufacture’s them. Thanks for lookin’. Keep on cruisin’! 😎

After vs. before. I’m slowly getting this car back to all original stock. I was very lucky to stumble upon an original pull choke cable with bezel. I looked through the Master Parts Catalog and even figured out the nut thread that was missing. Sprayed some graphite down the tube, de-gunked the ash board, modified the washer, attached it to the carb, and it works good. Much better than the aftermarket cable with original radio k**b. More work to come! One piece at a time!

Today I finally cleaned The Comet ☄️ Got her all scrubbed down, new white walls cleaned, fully polished, and buffed. Looking sharp! 😎 Engine all tuned up and alignment done, running smoooth as butter and one damn comfortable ride. I have done quite a bunch of upgrades to it returning things back to the original stock. I am excited to share. More to come!

Hard work does pay off! All 5 tires are in. Fun fact about the 1960 Comet. They originally came with 13” Goodyear Super Cushion Bias Tires with a custom about a 2” white wall. You can see the original tire in the trunk of another Comet. Absolutely incredible to still own that piece of history. They left just enough room for the diamonds around the tire to match the bottom door floor with chrome plated diamonds. Goodyear still makes them but with a smaller white wall and not in 13” only in 14”. So all you Comet owners listen up! This is the closest thing you’ll get to the original. These 13” American Classic 2” white wall are Radial tires with a bias look. That means no shaking around until your tires warm up! Plus longer life. Now I need to clean off the blue coating from shipping. I have the cleaner for that too. More to come! Thanks for checking it out. 😎

Well, I have been mighty quiet on this channel. The 1960 Comet ☄️ was sitting for a bit due to it not wanting to idle properly. Got it towed. I had to pump out all the old gas, drain and replace all fluids, replace the spark plugs, install a new manual carburetor with choke to get the proper airflow, pulled all the rims off, de-rusted the rims, treated, primed, and painted all the rims, and installed new tires. She now runs smoothly and is more reliable and safe. I hope to share more history and info on 1960’s Comets here too. Plenty more to do and plenty of updates coming. Keep your eyes peeled for some sweet updates. 😎
