Happy Birthday, America! Our 250th Anniversary is here — how are you going to celebrate?

250 years ago today, the Continental Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence — and changed the course of human history forever.

As John Adams wrote to Abigail, he knew exactly how to celebrate! “It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance… with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”

Although he wrote that thinking we’d celebrate independence on the 2nd — he was right, just off by a couple of days! 🎉
The Founders pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor so that future generations could live free.

Happy Flag Day, June 14.
This day commemorates the adoption of the United States flag by the Continental Congress in 1777.While it is not a federal holiday, it is an official flag-flying holiday where Americans are encouraged to display the U.S. flag. The President of the United States issues a proclamation officially declaring June 14 as Flag Day and the week of June 14 as National Flag Week. By the way, this is also the birth of the United States Army

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Allied forces who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944.
On D-Day, thousands of brave men faced unimaginable odds in the fight for freedom. Their actions helped change the course of history and secured a future for generations to come.
As we remember their service and sacrifice, we also remember their courage.

As we enjoy the freedoms secured by those who gave everything, let’s take time this Memorial Day to pause and remember. Whether through a moment of silence, attending a local ceremony, or sharing stories of one of these heroes, each act of remembrance helps ensure that their sacrifices are never forgotten.

Armed Forces Day is celebrated today, Saturday, May 16, 2026. This day is specifically dedicated to honoring the men and women currently serving across all six branches of the U.S. military: the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
