Your tires are the only thing keeping your car on the the tread road, but most people don’t check them until it’s too late. Here’s what to look for.

One, the penny upside down. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, your tread is too low. Low tread means you slide in the rain.

Two, dry rot. Look for cracks in the rubber. The Texas heat dries tires out fast, and a cracked tire can pop with no warning, even if it still looks okay.

Three, uneven wear. If one side is bald or the middle is worn down, your alignment or air is off. It wears your tires out fast.
