Always a fan of Corvettes winning IMSA and WEC races. And major kudos to a non-factory team for taking a Pratt & Miller GT-3R Corvette to victory lane. 24 hours is a beating on any machine, team, and strategy in those conditions and the resilience and durability came out on top!

Much drama in the past concerning the factory team and other Corvette teams, especially in the old ALMS days...

TF Sport, Corvette becomes second team and brand to win LMGT3 at Le Mans!

Winning the LMGT3 category of the 94th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the No.33 TF Sport Corvette of Ben Keating/Jonny Edgar/Nicky Catsburg ahead of the No.78 Akkodis ASP Team RC-F of Hadrien David/Jack Hawksworth/Tom Van Rompuy as the No.23 Heart of Racing Vantage of Jonny Adam/Eduardo Barrichello/Gray Newell completes the podium. Finishing off the top five is No.87 Akkodis ASP Team RC-F and No.21 Vista AF Corse Ferrari.

Despite starting towards the rear of the field, the fleet of Corvettes would find their way towards the top of LMGT3 during the night hours, becoming the third party in a fight that included Akkodis ASP Team and Heart of Racing for the class win. Meanwhile the No.77 Proton Competition Mustang and No.91 Manthey DK Engineering GT3 R would both retire from the race, the former for mechanical issues and the latter due to heavy damage from a crash on the Mulsanne.

Spacers, as with many car parts, are mundane. They simply place the components on the rear axle. BUT, while the mundane, almost consumable parts can be mass produced on CNC machines, where does this leave craftsmanship?

I believe the mundane can be beautiful and show a level of hands-on craftsmanship. The end result? Mundane utility becomes crafted beauty.

Repairs in the works.... Ladder straps, some new front wing straps, a new wing tree, and a bunch of block off plates...

Weekend race update:

Friday: trying a new LR tire, we fought being mega tight on a sticky, tight track all night. Went 10 - 7 in the feature still pushing like a freight train.

Saturday: determined to find a setup for the LR, hot laps was still tight. Throwing in the towel, I switched over to a known setup and we were instantly free for heats...a bit too free. Tightened up for the feature and we were off. We went 12 - 8, then while committed for a pass for 5th we went wings down.

Great weekend, we learned a lot, and are looking forward to the next opportunity to be on track, currently planning on June 5-6 at Port City.

It was our first time to I44-Speedway and we had a great time!

The track was great, the facilities, staff and racers made the trip well worth the effort! Unfortunately, weather got us after heats.

The track had a bit of character, and I set the car great for 3/4, way too tight for 1/2 which led us to the wall on the exit of 2 on lap 8 of the heat. We reset and were ready to go for a p9 start in the feature when thunderstorms moved through. We
