Weekly tip #4 to be secure online:

Do some 2 step authentication.

Facebook and Google offer a 2-step authentication to log into their websites, which means its a secondary pin which is either e-mailed or texted to your phone to be able to log in.

It may be a pain in the back but no one would be able to get into your account without a "heavy-duty" targeted attack!

Weekly tip #3 to be secure online:

Secure those security questions!!!

Think of your security questions as a password.

Kaspery Labs expert Dmitry Bestuzhev explains, don't directly answer the security question at all:

"The tips are quite simple but effective. Since all social engineering attacks work based on the information of interest for the victim or the information related to the victim, it's important to provide secret questions with the answers absolutely not related to it.

For example, for the question "What is the name of your first pet?" I would register an answer like sw3SwuTu

When I bought my last car... The vendor provided me with a list of secret questions and I had to provide them with the secret answers they registered in their systems. So, instead of providing real answers I provided a password like the [aforementioned] one. They said I was the first customer to do this and they congratulated me.

So, basically the rule is never provide real answers for the secret questions."

Weekly tip #2 to be secure online:

Use "HTTPS://" Whenever possible, what HTTPS does is encrypt your data between you and the service so there is no one snooping on your online data...

Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc... already use HTTPS so be sure to use it whenever possible, especially when using a public Wi-Fi!

Weekly tip to be secure online:

Fortify that password! Here is an example:

The Password "c@$sT1e1" would take a regular desktop PC 3 days to crack plus you would have a very hard time remembering your password...

On the other hand the password: "Stone Wall Castle Gray" would take a regular desktop PC 423 Sextillion years to crack, thats 21 zeros, and it is way easier to remember that password just think "The Stone Wall of a Castle is Gray"

Change that password to something much more secure and easy to remember and fortify it!
