2002 Honda CR250 engine, radiators, subframe, and a bunch of miscellaneous parts v***r blasted for Duran Ramos rebuild project. He genuinely had one of my favorite reactions when seeing the parts in person, and I love having clients as excited as I am to have quality restored parts to start their build.

BMW E30 throttle body in the shop today, in and out 24 hour turnaround for a simple job like this. New customer did an excellent job disassembling, degreasing, and removing most of the cosmoline (the yellow crusty boogers), which made my job easy.

Although I say v***r blasting struggles with softer contamination like RTV, silicone, plastic-dip, etc, it can perform relatively well on old hardened cosmoline, often found on German imports. It takes extra time really digging it out of corners, but it is doable.

If you have parts that are just absolutely coated in cosmoline, I would highly recommend a bath in a heated ultrasonic cleaner or parts washer prior to blasting. Your v***r blasting guy with appreciate it 😎🤘

Fat cat front hub dry blasted and repainted in gloss white! One thing I’m really not a fan of is dry blasting… my setup probably isn’t adequate, just a simple siphon gun.

Who’s got the sauce when it comes to dry blasting? What makes a siphon system not crappy - or should I just fire up my pressure pot and use that?
