Remember the lucky penny story?

Wessa Miller gave it to Dale Earnhardt before the 1998 Daytona 500. But Jerry Hailey shared details Wessa herself told him years later that I’d never heard before.

Then he showed us where Dale glued it to the dash and what probably is Dale’s fingerprint in the glue.

Hearing this story while standing beside the actual car gave me chills.

Dale Earnhardt won the 1998 Daytona 500 with an experimental engine that was supposed to be a spare.

Jerry Hailey helped build it, and he walked us through how it ended up under the hood for the biggest race of Dale’s career. Then we got a closer look at the car itself right down to the dried mud still on the tires from his celebration in the infield.

You can walk past this car a hundred times and never know the stories hiding in plain sight.

“You’re now sitting in Dale Earnhardt’s seat.”

I’ve walked through the RCR Museum plenty of times, but getting inside Dale’s private hauler lounge with Jerry Hailey was something else.

Jerry showed us where Dale sat, remembered their last pre-race meeting before the 2001 Daytona 500, and shared stories about the guy his crew knew including how he’d smack you with the curtain if you nodded off.

The same seats, the same walls, and stories from someone who was there. A pretty special place to spend a few minutes.

Anyone near Mocksville NC want a nice orange cat? He’s very nice and friendly loves attention. Fixed. 8 years old with records. Uses the litterbox.

I’m allergic to cats and he won’t stop trying to sneak into the house so he’s gotta go. His life would be much better somewhere he can interact with people.

A look back at a legendary piece of NASCAR Winston Cup history.

Before closing its doors permanently in December 2023, the Winston Cup Museum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, housed an incredible collection of historic NASCAR race cars and memorabilia.

Museum owner Will Spencer, who spent over 40 years working with NASCAR and its race teams through JKS Incorporated, built the museum in 2005 as a tribute to one of the greatest eras in stock car racing.

Who can custom paint a clear 2002 Monte Carlo body? I’d like to have one or two done for this thing.

Remember the infamous Ricky Rudd/Kevin Harvick pit road scuffle at Richmond?

The dented hood from that race is still around and it’s now on display at the Wood Brothers Museum alongside decades of incredible NASCAR history.

This place is packed with stuff you just don’t see anywhere else.

The Wood Brothers old race shop is basically 75+ years of NASCAR history packed into one building.

We filmed here back in 2023, but they’ve added a TON since then so we had to go back! New artifacts, more cars out of storage, new displays, and even Harrison Burton’s 2024 Daytona win car, which was win number 100 for the Wood Brothers organization.

If you’re into NASCAR history, this place is unreal.

Leonard Wood is 92 years old and still building some of the coolest stuff you’ll ever see.

He’s hand built half scale versions of cars and even a fully functional Ford Boss 429 engine, all without CNC machines.

Now he’s building a half scale 1937 Ford from aluminum completely by hand.

They just don’t make ’em like Leonard Wood anymore.

Leonard Wood is 92 years old and still building some of the coolest stuff you’ll ever see.

The same mind and hands that helped shape NASCAR history are still at work today. Leonard doesn’t just talk about how things were built, he still goes into the shop and builds them himself.
