Just replaced your engine and already having car issues again? It's not as unusual as you'd think.

Ever wonder what the diagnosis fee is paying for?

If your cars vents arent blowing much air and you're sweating in the summer heat, it might just be time to replace your air filter.

We had this car come in needing a transmission flush, we figured we'd show you how it's done. Let us know if theres any other How-To type videos youd like to see!

One of the biggest misconceptions about auto mechanics is that we want your car to break down so you’ll keep coming back. That’s not how we operate at Lancer Garage. When we flag something worn or starting to fail, it’s because we want your vehicle safe, reliable, and running the way it should. We’d rather help you fix a small problem today than watch it become a bigger, costlier repair later. Repeat business is not doing the same repair twice, it’s earning your trust with the right maintenance, the first time.

Story time from the shop: we fixed an A/C issue, tested everything, and sent the customer on their way with cold air and no concerns. Four or five days later they came back saying the A/C smelled absolutely horrible. We checked pressures, system performance, and even inspected the vents, everything on the A/C side looked great. Then we found the culprit: a thawed package of bacon tucked under the driver’s seat, apparently left from a grocery trip and “cooking” inside the hot cabin. The smell made sense after that. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever found in your car?

One thing we wish every customer knew: a lot of the work it takes to repair your vehicle never shows up on your invoice. Before we replace parts, we diagnose the real issue, double-check our work, and test drive. Sometimes we spend extra time chasing down details to be sure it’s fixed correctly. Could we bill every minute? Sure. But we’d rather build long-term relationships than rush jobs. We treat every vehicle like it’s our own—because we know it matters when you leave our shop. Thank you for trusting Lancer Garage.

Story time from a mechanic: we towed in a car that wouldn’t start and the smell hitting our shop was unreal, so strong the front office was complaining. After we tracked down the cause, we found a half container of pasta salad sitting in the trunk from who-knows-when (mid-summer doesn’t help). Neighbors even asked what was going on. We got the car fixed, and later the customer realized the food they left behind was the culprit. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever found in your car? Tell us in the comments.

If you handed me $20,000 to buy a car tomorrow, I’d start with the brands that have a track record: reliable Hondas and Toyotas. But the real key with any used car is maintenance history. I'd rather pay for a well-kept higher-mile vehicle than a neglected low-mile one. Get records, have it inspected, and walk away if it doesn’t feel right. What would you buy with $20,000? Let us know in the comments.

Biggest mistake people make when buying a car? Waiting until after they’ve purchased it. We see it constantly: a customer falls in love on the lot, then brings the used car in a few days later for an inspection. That’s when we sometimes have to share costly repairs, hidden damage, or major safety concerns they never knew about. One of the wildest cases we’ve seen involved a vehicle that was essentially two cars welded together to make one, something you won’t catch on a quick test drive. A pre-purchase inspection can uncover what you can’t see from the driver’s seat, so the small upfront time is far cheaper than inheriting someone else’s problems. If you’re thinking about buying used, bring it in before you buy. It could save you thousands.
