Intermountain R/C Raceway is located in Salt Lake City, UT near the Oquirrah mountains just south of highway 21. For over 27 years, the Intermountain Raceway has been the premier indoor off-road track in Utah. Besides the indoor off-road dirt track, we also have a recently re-surfaced outdoor on-road track. We host regular competitions on both tracks all year long. We have a REAL indoor rock gard

en that can be changed at any time, great for 1.9 crawlers. Intermountain R/C Raceway is home to the second longest running Off-Road race in the country, The April Fools Classic (25th anniversary in 2013)
The April Fools Classic is one of the do not miss races in the country with top name drivers from around the country attending each year. In addition to the raceway, IRCR is a full-fledged hobby shop offering a large inventory of parts consistent with most retail hobby shops. If you can't find what you need we will gladly order it for you. We purchase from local and national distributors with a quick turn around, in some cases we can get your item the same day.

Lap with a Champ 🏁

Hop on board with Broc Champlin as he takes his Schumacher LD3 2WD Mod Buggy for a lap around Rocky Mountain RC Raceway!

Broc is the reigning 2025 IFMAR 1/10 2WD Off-Road World Champion and added another major win to the résumé this year with the 4WD Modified title at the 2026 ROAR Carpet Off-Road Nationals.

But if you know Broc, you also know the other side of the story… when he isn’t traveling the country racing RC cars, there’s a good chance he’s out golfing — and somehow, even a World Champion can still be found marshaling races in flip-flops. 😂

Watch the lines, listen to that Mod buggy work, and see how smooth Broc makes a fast lap look aboard his Schumacher LD3.

Schedule reminder for this weekend! 🏁

Off-road racing is moving to Friday night this week, and it will be the final race on the current layout before the Utah Off-Road State Championship rebuild begins.

That also means Friday is your final chance to conquer the wagon wheel — and if you’ve raced this layout, you already know it has been a doozy. 😂

It’s also your last shot to put down a heater and claim the fast lap on the current layout before we tear it all up.

After racing Friday night, Rocky Mountain RC Raceway will be closed Saturday through Monday while we rebuild the off-road track for State Champs.

Come race the layout one last time, settle your score with the wagon wheel, and prepare to see the new layout soon! 🔥🏁

Huge off-road restock at Rocky Mountain RC Raceway! 🏁

A big shipment of parts, tires, wheels, and other off-road essentials came in at the end of last week, and a lot of it is already flying off the shelves as everyone gets ready for the Utah Off-Road State Championship.

If there’s something specific you know you’ll need for State Champs, now is the time to get your order in. Tires, wheels, replacement parts, spares, and other essentials can disappear quickly as we get closer to race weekend.

Please don’t wait until the last minute and hope we still have exactly what you need sitting on the shelf. Talk with RMRCR staff now so we can get you the parts you need!

Clifton Nicholson has his TLR 2WD Buggy looking sharp and getting dialed in on TZO tires ahead of the Utah Off-Road State Championship. 👀🏁

If you’ve raced with Cliff before, you probably recognize that purple, blue, and yellow right away. It’s become his signature color scheme across his race program and this buggy definitely fits the lineup.

With the track rebuild coming up, tonight is one of your last chances to get laps in on the current layout. Come race with us and get some practice in before State Champs!

Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote and share feedback on how we should run the 2026 Utah Off-Road State Championship! We read through the comments, discussed the options with our staff, and have decided to keep the event as a one-day race on Saturday, September 12 — with a couple of new additions to the class lineup!

🏁 NEW CLASSES ADDED
• Modified Masters (40+) 2WD Buggy
• Vintage 2WD Buggy

With the addition of these two classes, we are still able to make the one-day format work. That does come with one important caveat: it is going to be a long race day, and the program will need to stay on a strict time schedule. We’ll be working hard to keep heats moving, so we appreciate everyone being ready when their race is called and helping us keep the day running smoothly.

We’re excited to be able to offer these additional classes while keeping everything packed into one big day of racing!

If you have already registered and would like to add one of the new classes or make any other changes to your registration, please reach out to Keeley Fojtek or Ian Goodfellow, and we’ll get you updated.

Saturday off-road was a big one at Rocky Mountain RC Raceway! 🏁🔥

We had 40 drivers and 54 total entries, making this probably our biggest off-road turnout since the April Fools race!

It was great to see so many racers in the building, welcome some new faces, and get a few classes on the track that we don’t get to run as often.

A huge thank you as well to Kingston’s family for the delicious food and for helping make an already great race day even better.
