A lot of drivers think a wheel alignment after an accident is just to keep the truck tracking straight down the road or to prevent uneven tire wear. But on modern vehicles, your mechanical alignment controls your digital safety network.

📸 Behind the Scenes: Check out this customer’s Ford F-150 up on our alignment rack today. This truck was in an accident, and the driver noticed the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) light kept kicking on while driving.

Here is the hidden connection: Modern suspension and steering systems use a critical electronic component called a Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) alongside individual ABS Wheel Speed Sensors. They monitor exactly how fast each tire is spinning and which direction you are pointing the steering wheel.

When suspension parts are even slightly bent or thrown out of calibration from a collision:
The truck’s physical wheels might be pointing slightly one way, while the steering wheel sensor thinks you are driving straight.
This minute difference confuses the vehicle's onboard computer.
