🥶 EXTREME COLD WEATHER ADVISORY - CAR WASH EDITION🚗💦
With the upcoming artic freeze/snow in the forecast, we will be shutting down the car wash later this evening. We will leave one bay open at each location in the event someone has an urgent need to clean their vehicle, but please use caution! ⚠️
‼️We will plan to re-open Sunday or Monday morning, depending on the temperature.
As you can imagine, water and freezing temperatures don't mix well, especially when the wind chill is expected to be -22.
Here’s what people don’t always realize about operating a car wash in weather like this:
❄️ Water freezes fast – doors, mirrors, handles, and locks can ice up in minutes
🧊 Soap & chemicals don’t always perform the same. Chemicals in the equipment room can get thicker and require adjusting.
🚿 Equipment works harder – pumps, hydraulic lines, and nozzles are fighting the cold nonstop. Keeping ice from forming on nozzles, brush material, and the ground you walk on can be a challenge.
🌬️ Wind chill makes drying tougher.
🚙 Road grime is worse – salt, slush, and mud gets frozen onto the paint and wheels
While we do everything we can to keep things open and running smoothly & safely, just know: in temps like this, it’s not just a wash… it’s a battle 😅💪
