Well ... this happened today ... as most of our customers have seen in the past several years, we stay pretty much booked out, year round. Today was like any other day, full service bays, the phone ringing, making appointments, as well as talking with regular customers. This afternoon, I was on the phone with a customer, and this guy pulls up, right in front of the sign that clearly says, No Parking in front of the service doors. He gets out, walked in, sees that I'm on the phone, proceeds to pace back and forth, making grunting sounds, obviously annoyed by me, not hanging up the phone and jumping up to greet him. Keep in mind, this guy has never been here before, and has no idea how business works here. As soon as I was done with my call, I asked him if I could help him. He's already annoyed with me, you can see it in his face. He says that he had a bolt that he needs installed on his exhaust system, and needs it now. I looked at the schedule, and offered him our next available time slot. He grunts, You can't do it now? I calmly explained that we do everything by appointment only, and once again offered the next available time to him..he glared at me, stomping off and getting in his car and drove away. I assumed that it Was over. Nope, within 10 minutes of his departure, I get a 1 star review, that claims he waited 20 minutes (It was 5) and that he had to make an appointment anyway ... listen people, if you expect a small business, with 50 years of experience, to be able to drop everything, and jump on your vehicle, you have been living under a rock, for far too long. Since I've been in business for 24 years, I've always gone out of my way to accommodate people. But honestly, since 2020 and Covid, we have been behind even more than ever. In conclusion, when we leave reviews, it's because of doing business with any given business, and you're either happy, or not. I emplore my customers to let us know if we didn't meet expectations, after we've actually worked on your stuff, to let us know if we can do something to correct a problem, if we have one. Not just leave a review because we couldn't drop everything else, and help them right now. Sorry for the long winded story, it just floors me in this day and age, that people have become such a gotta have it now society, that they have forgotten about small business and how hard we all work, to stay in business. And we're human beings, and not a fast food drive-thru .. good quality work, takes time. Remember, Good work isn't cheap, and cheap work isn't always good.
