J&J and Upland Family Fun Center had a lot of fun working with Nickelodeon on Blippi’s Super Silly Vehicle Race!

It’s always exciting to see equipment we build end up being part of something this creative and fun. Definitely not your everyday go-kart project!

The year was 1986.

Top Gun was in theaters, cassette tapes were everywhere, and at J&J Amusements, we were already working on electric go-karts.

Take a look through our Spring 1986 J&J Recreation Newsletter and you’ll get a glimpse of what we were designing, building, and thinking about nearly 40 years ago.

A lot has changed since then, the karts, batteries, electronics, and technology but some things haven’t changed at all.

We’re building commercial amusement equipment in Salem, Oregon, still looking for ways to make our products better, and still focused on the same things that have guided us for decades:

Safety. Service. Quality.

There’s something special about looking back at an old company newsletter and realizing that the ideas we were working on in 1986 are still part of where the industry is headed today.

Take a trip back in time and check out our Spring 1986 Newsletter.

Bumper boats have been making people smile for over 50 years, and they’re still one of the best family attractions around.

Long before splash pads and water play zones became popular, bumper boats were the original cool-down ride. There’s just something timeless about cruising across the water, bumping into friends and family, and laughing the whole time.

After all these years, bumper boats continue to prove that great attractions don’t have to be complicated, they just have to be fun.

A great attraction doesn’t just look good - it creates moments guests want to come back for. The Megalopond Bumper Boats at Raptor Falls are built for exactly that.
