In case you haven't heard, I was hit with quadruple bypass surgery, if I would have waited one more day we would not be having this conversation. I'm in my second week of recovery. Unfortunately I will not be making it to Lake Havasu Desert storm 2026.
Progress on the panther is set back a couple months while I recover.
In the meantime I'll try to keep things interesting.

So I took a ride up to Oshkosh WI to see my engine builder Erik Johnson from Erik Johnson race engines (keep an eye on that name) and to see the progress on my 565's. Was able to get some good pictures!
The heads are massive, all CNC machined!

In case people are wondering why I'm doing my transom the way I am, let me see if I can shed some light on the subject.
Keep in mind we are going from 670 hp to 1600 hp.
If you look closely at the pictures you will see double fiberglass lines, the marina that did the work on this boat is located in LOTO, I won't mention the name, all work was done prior to my ownership.
Let's just say that when the replaced the fuel tank, rear bulkhead, stringers and apparently some work on the transom they did a crap fast job, everything was double layers with air pockets in all the supporting areas including in the transom inner and outer layers.
They also built the motors, the portside twice because of some issues, second time around the build ticket / notes say port motor has some valve train noise, should be ok and go away, lol. Well it didn't and took a crap last summer, just to let you know what kind of work they do.

Well I went to go see my girl for Valentines today, when I got there I stood there and just looked at her then I caressed her smoothness, I climbed on top of her and I..... Hey get your mind out of the gutter!! I'm talking about my boat, lol.
I did work on it finished cutting /trimming where the stringers go, I should be making templates and cutting replacement pieces on Sunday.
I talked to Rik over at Arneson, he said I won't be getting my bell housings and rear motor mounts for at least another month, not happy.
I figured if I ordered them in August it would be plenty of time to get together by April, I was wrong!
Anyway I will keep working on transom/stringers then paint bilge and wire boat and gauges, install new trim tabs and get interior installed by Kiwi Marine upholstery.
Oh yeah can't forget about Erik Johnson he's still putting together the 565's.
I will get some progress pictures tomorrow.

Now that my hand has healed from the previous mishap, work will continue on the transom and stringers.
Received a call from Eddie Marine about my custom exhaust layout I sent them and they said no problem and the price is attractive compared to others.
So I will be going with Eddie Marine exhaust I'm pretty excited about it!!

Have all the stringers rough cut out, I still have to take out the lower bulkhead in front of the stringers. Included a picture of stringers, they were not original they had cut them out in 2012 when a shop replaced the fuel tank and just bandaided them back together.
Tomorrow will be cut out bulkhead and clean up stringer cuts.

So I was talking to the guys at Hering propeller, for my boat weight, hp and drives they said I should look for some older 4 blade 18" 33pitch 15-18 rake so that's what I did.
I found a pair of 18" 31p 15rake 2 degrees less pitch but it's a starting point and I couldn't pass on the price!
Check them out compared to the original prop
