IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

After 5 years of serving St. Petersburg and surrounding areas, we have an announcement.
In January 2025, our lease with Carla Brown (the owner) was set to end. Long before this occurred, we had written promises of an extension of our lease. However, when time came to renew -- Carla Brown attempted to dramatically raise the rent, far in excess of the discussed terms. In addition, she attempted to shorten our lease to 1-year at a time rather than another 5-year lease, allowing her to hit us with large rent increases every year.
Our management team negotiated in good faith for a longer lease and terms that were consistent with market prices. We even offered to buy the building for well over well over $1,000,000 -- but Carla Brown would not even allow us time to get the building appraised and inspected.
Finally, in November, we agreed to a 1-year lease with Carla Brown and the much higher rent so that we could at least keep our store open to serve our customers while we continued negotiations and potential purchase of the property.
Moments after our corporate team agreed to Carla Brown's terms just for the sake of contuiance of our business, she emailed back with "Actually, no thanks. I'll pass."
Unfortunately, greed and pettiness on the part of Carla Brown means that 4,000+ customers can no longer get the great, affordable auto service they have have come to count on.
Luckily, our company owns another location in Pinellas county that is not yet developed as an Affordable Mechanics of America -- but soon will be. A far nicer, luxury property.
All customers from St. Petersburg will be offered Free Bentley Luxury Courtesy Car Service and Free Towing when you need service.
Affordable Mechanics of America – Clearwater will open this summer -- along with our first location for Affordable Towing of America. Between these two entities, all of our customers from Saint Petersburg will be taken care of long into the future. We will have a grand opening event this summer.
The management team for AMA - Clearwater has not been announced, but we will keep you posted. We hope you will see some of the same faces you've come to know and trust at our new location.
