One of our longtime customers has been fighting an uphill battle for years. She lives alone, struggles with disabilities, and still does everything she can to stay independent. She works when she can, stretches every dollar, and never asks anyone for anything.

Recently her car finally gave out. The engine is shot and the vehicle itself is beyond saving. Unfortunately, without a car she can’t get to work, appointments, or even basic errands.

She didn’t come asking for money. In fact, the only thing she said when we talked was “prayer works.”

But sometimes prayers show up through people.

Officer Kiel Rushton heard her story and decided to use his voice and his platform to rally the community around her. We’re incredibly grateful for him stepping up and using his influence to help someone who truly needs it. People like Kiel make a real difference in this community.
