Sometimes the repair shop feels like the bad guy—but we’re not creating the bad news. We’re simply showing you what’s happening and explaining what it will take to fix it.

This is a perfect example of why routine vehicle maintenance matters. A coolant flush performed at the proper service intervals could have helped prevent the excessive corrosion you see in this video.

What might have started as a simple coolant leak is no longer a small repair. The corrosion has damaged metal components that are built into a larger assembly. Because of the way the manufacturer designed it, we can’t replace only the failed piece—the entire assembly now has to be replaced.

That’s why we talk about preventive maintenance before there’s an obvious problem. Coolant service, fluid exchanges, digital vehicle inspections, and scheduled maintenance may not be exciting, but they can help prevent a smaller service from becoming a much larger repair.

We don’t enjoy delivering bad news. We’d much rather help you avoid it. Maintenance is almost always cheaper than neglect—and your vehicle has a very expensive way of reminding you. 😬
