Attention Truck Drivers

With the impending storm, be aware, In temps below 5* gelled diesel is a serious problem.
Common symptoms;
•Loss of power,
•Misfire,
•Truck running rough.
•In extreme cases the truck will shut off and not restart

What to do when experiencing these problems;
•DO NOT SHUT YOUR TRUCK OFF!
•Safely pull to the side of the road
•Leave your truck running, the fuel returning from your engine is warm and will help keep your tanks from freezing further.
•Add an emergency fuel treatment such as Diesel 911, or a similar emergency anti gel.

Once your truck gels, you will need to change your fuel filters, however the emergency fuel treatment should allow you to a few more miles of travel to reach a safe location off the road. The best defense against gel up’s is to buy good, blended fuel. As well as adding a winter fuel treatment.

Obviously we don’t know the circumstances of this particular accident, but this is a tragic reminder that tire inspection is a crucial part of your daily pre trip inspection. Not only could it save your life, but the life of another.

The semi crossed the median and hit a northbound 2001 Dodge Ram pickup truck driven by 22-year-old man from Glenville.
