For we travel back to the good ole' days when cars would trip the "ding, ding!" bell and smiling, uniformed full service gas station attendants would run out and greet customers with "Fill 'er up?" The era of someone airing up our tires, topping our fluids and washing our windows while we chilled in the car ended with the 70's and skyrocketing gas prices, when consumers chose the less convenient but cheaper "self-serve" approach.
