Just finished up a wheel alignment on this 2020 Tesla S model

Not all repairs go as planned. Sometimes unwanted failures occur.

2012 Prius came in for lower control arm replacement. We notice some minor rust build up on subframe. The collar bolt inside the subframe for control bolt spun right off inside frame. We had to cut of control arm and replaced the subframe. This control arm fought us to the very end.

Once everything was put back together and wheel alignment done. Tech test drove and immediately the air bag light came one. Now what !!!

The air bag clock spring gave up the ghost. No airbag light on prior to repairs. We advised customer what happen. There was no additional charge to customer. We installed a new oem part and sent her off.

These are things that can happen at any given time.

What a fight today..... with a abs light on a 2015 Chevy Volt. First I found my test leads intermittently failing. Led me on a wild goose chase.

Test leads went into the garbage can and used my Pico scope to continue.

Found signal drop out from left front and sensor. I am back probeing at the abs connector. Spun the wheel manually and intermittent drop out. I removed sensor and found no damage. This sensor does not use a tone wheel on axle shaft but a magnetic tone wheel. The tone wheel is part of the wheel bearing.

Remove sensor and use a magnet to activate sensor. It worked consistently. This prove good wiring, senor, connections and module

We then called customer for additional time. Removed wheel bearing and found a small piece of metal attached to tone wheel !!! This is a first for me. Removed and cleaned tone wheel .

Abs codes erased and test drove. All good 👍👌😌
