🏁 RACE RECAP
Going into this weekend, I had just spent 10 days at Barry Wright Race Cars with my race car, working on it and learning as much as I could about these cars. While we were there, we completely reset up the car using some of the new knowledge I had gained, and it paid off. The car came out better than it had ever been before, and I felt like we had finally gotten everything headed in the right direction.
We started the weekend off strong, qualifying 4th quick in our group. We started 4th in the heat race, but after getting drove off the racetrack on lap 1, we fell back and ended up going 4th → 7th.
That put us on the outside pole of the B-Main. We grabbed the lead on lap 1 and checked out. With 3 laps to go and a straightaway lead, the motor let go, ending our night and unfortunately bringing our season to an early end.
Definitely not the way we wanted to finish the year, especially after finally getting the car better than it had ever been. It’s tough knowing how much progress we made and how much speed we found, but that’s racing.
I can’t thank all of our sponsors, family, crew, friends, and supporters enough for everything they’ve done for me and this team all season long. None of this would be possible without you guys!
As far as next year goes, our plans are still up in the air, but one thing is for sure we definitely aren’t quitting! We’ll figure out what’s next and come back stronger. 💪
Thank you to everyone who supported the #35 team!
