🚨🚨🚨🚨LA Tint Law UPDATE:

Louisiana has updated its window tint law, specifically concerning the front side windows of vehicles.

Effective August 1, 2025, the new law reduces the minimum light transmission for these windows from 40% to 25% VLT (visible light transmission). This change allows for darker tint on the driver and front passenger windows. All other window tint regulations remain the same.

Here's a breakdown of the key changes and existing regulations:

Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed above the AS-1 line (or top 5 inches).

Front Side Windows: Must allow at least 25% of light to pass through (effective August 1, 2025).

Back Side Windows: Must allow at least 25% of light to pass through.

Rear Window: Must allow at least 12% of light to pass through.

Reflectance: Reflective tint is limited to a maximum of 20% luminous reflectance.

Important Considerations...

Enforcement:
While the new law takes effect August 1, 2025, the 40% VLT requirement for front windows will be enforced until July 31, 2025, according to Prestige Films.

Medical Exemptions:
Louisiana does not offer medical exemptions for window tint that exceeds legal limits.

Out-of-State Vehicles:
Drivers with window tints that meet their home state's legal requirements can still be cited if the tint doesn't comply with Louisiana law.

Penalties:
Failure to comply with Louisiana's window tint laws can result in fines.
