Not very common to see the lifter retainer fail on a 2019 6.7 ford but when you can scoop the sludge with a spoon you understand why it failed. Customer changes oil regularly but has been using an oil additive. Sometimes you think you’re doing your engine good by using it not knowing what’s going on inside. This one will get a full tear down and completely cleaned before getting and new camshaft and lifters

Came in for lack of power and would truck would stall. Suspected the fuel pick up screen and got a little bit more of a surprise

Reasons why I do compression check before doing injectors. Customer had a misfire and was smoke bellowing from the exhaust took to a shop and replaced injectors on cylinders 3 & 7 and ran the same. You could easily hear the compression loss when turning over so we pulled those new injectors out and ran a scope down and saw the piston was melted on 7 but 3 looked good. After tear down found pistons 5 & 7 melted if we had the original injectors they would probably give a better idea.
